How is the Abroad in Japan Studio 7 Days After the Earthquake ⛩️ PATREON Exclusive Video

Let's not sugar coat it. It's been a crap week.
But after Japan's worst earthquake in 10 years, the Abroad in Japan studio is finally back and stronger than ever.

Here's a rundown on some of the things I've been up to this week to earthquake proof the studio, and also a sneak peek into the three awesome videos we've got coming out in the next two weeks.

I shall be late to the party, But i have a great product that wil earthquakeproof your lose bits in the studio without damaging it. Its call museum gel. I used to use it in Yachting when the ships is doing a ocean crossing( i did Automation of AV and IT for a private yacht) Good thing is that you can reuse it later. i did check the Japanese stores and its called earthquake gel or just museum gel

I'm really glad to hear that everything still works. I hope those sticky things will prevent any damage if it happens again. I'm looking forward to more videos in the studio. :)

So relieved you’re back in the shop and that all the rejuvenation spells have worked to get the ol girl back on her feet. ❤️

Shannon Sweetser

Aki did a video where she was earthquake proofing her home. I was thinking that could of been a collab opportunity. Glad the studio is back up and running. Maybe Garnt can come visit still. :)

Robert Russell

Looking forward to the next few vids Chris. Glad everything is okay, and you and all your friends are well. Heres to a great month for Abroad in Japan! 😎🎉

Matthew Davison

Man, I remember going through something a little less bad than that in Kyoto around 2017. Was twitchy for months afterwards. Really makes you face your own mortality. Glad not everything was terrible Chris.

Is there a specific reason they think such earthquakes will now be a yearly event? I’ve always heard that such even anticipating one earthquake was almost impossible let alone a new trend. I thought earthquakes were even less predictable then volcano eruptions. Glad you and yours are safe and best wishes to those affected by the disaster.

Darth Mole

So glad you were able to keep the damage to a minimum, and I truly look forward to the upcoming projects! But I feel like it's a bit of an oversight for a company that builds professional sets in Japan and that costs quite a lot of money, to not offer any sort of earthquake-proofing on their sets. Is it because usually their sets are not permanent?

Chris the building sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Can you move your set to a safer building? Can you get an insurance for the studio and set?

The Che

Glad to see the set looking like it's old self. Rest up Chris, you look super tired! I have two questions for you. One: Was the neko the worst of the damage? I know there was a lot of broken glass but I'm assuming you were able to easily replace all that...were you? Or was there something that you can't easily replace? Two: Since you learned that they think a similar earthquake will happen every year, any plans on moving out of your area and to a place less likely to have such violent earthquakes (like Joey and Aki only had one clock smash...they seem to be in a semi-safe area?). And if you were to move...what happens with the set? Is it moveable? Easy to put up again? I can't imagine you'd want to destroy it/leave things behind.

Astor Reinhardt

Glad to see at least some good come out of it, Chris. To paraphrase Al Murray, "it proves that God's British 'cos we don't have earthquakes in this country. You don't want to **** on your own doorstep!".

Etienne Sharp

Really happy to see things are back up and running!
