Journey Across Japan | Day 4 - Why I Felt Disappointed | Patreon Behind the Scenes Video

The fourth of 6 glorious Patreon Exclusive Episodes featuring behind the scenes bloopers, outtakes and deleted scenes from Journey Across Japan: Escape to Fuji!

On Day 4 of our Journey Across Japan, we travelled from the tomb of Japan's largest Pyramid, through a typhoon and on to a capsule hotel in a shipping container to wait out the storm.

Here’s the fourth Patreon exclusive behind the scenes episode, with deleted scenes and outtakes from our trip from Gifu to Fuji, revealing why I felt disappointed by a sight I'd hoped to encounter along our travels.

Looking forward to seeing you taking the mountains! But please please get yourself reasonable trekking boots! (I just have joined the patreon community today! Proud to be part of it!)

“Look at me with my house” *cries in millenial*

When I heard him say he lost youtube subscribers because of the accent, I immediately subscribed to Patreon. SO glad I did, great content.

wendy weems

I agree, it is better than many Americans. LOL

wendy weems

I'm with Wendy! Chris' American accent was far better than most Americans who try to do an accent from the UK. So glad I subscribed to Patreon, love getting to see this extra content! Keep up the great work, Chris and team!

Michelle Thong

I was so hoping he would use his American accent, it's absolutely hilarious

Vanessa Walsh

Dave Broad 😂😂😂😂😂

As an American, I am offended because of the wussiness of those that unsubscribed because of the American accent. It was greatness....and we butcher the British accent quite regularly.

wendy weems

i love those behind the scenes videos

Foivos Anargyros

Don't give in to the haters! I'm an American and I think your impression is hilarious!

These extra scenes and commentary are so interesting! Gives one a true sense of the challenges of filming as well as the fun. Sometimes nature/fate has a way of making up for the shortcomings of the day. Great as always. Looking forward to seeing more...

Jolie

Great behind the lens video. Thoughts on your American accent: Americans use a British accent to parody pomp; I am disappointed to hear that you lost subscribers, after your use of an American accent, those that unsubscribed a little thin-skinned. ちょっと残念ですね。Benny Hill made a career of parodying the British people, self-reflection is self-knowledge. Keep-up the great work, 楽しみにして、頑張ってね。

Ryori

Oi, Chris, you got a license for that Nerf gun? 😏 These behind-the-scenes outtakes are hilarious! Keep up the awesome work.

If it wasn’t because of Norm’s laugh (or was it Joey’s??) it would’ve been great to hear you say “All Abroad” in the final video

Thank you for the BTS update, Chris! It's alright if this was a little less action packed, I'm treating it like the calm before the storm in the final 2 episodes! Plus, it was still a ton of fun and I never knew pyramids existed in Japan, lol. I like how Ian was watching in amusement as you rage-fired on Joey... Excited to hear you are going to be doing more mountain climbing/hiking! If you see this, I was wondering: have you done a video of climbing Mt Chokai?

Regarding mountains and climbing I can recommend to go to the Shinhotaka Ropeway. Been there three times already (staying in a very nice and cozy Hotel down the road) and its still an amazing scenery. March is great since its still covered in snow. Mai is great to go from the Ropeway toplevel towards the hiking Hut and continuing to either the mountaintops or Kamikochi.

it's comforting to know that Norm and Ian (it took me the rest of the day to remember his name after asking that question, lol) slept in capsules too instead of somewhere boring next door, so thanks for confirming that! I agree with Keith that this was a solidly entertaining video. It can't be mind-blowing every day! But I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more mountains next year :)

Nynke de Haas

I wasn't disappointed. I quite liked it. It was OK. It was a pretty good episode.

Keith Cassidy

It's been quite an interesting experience doing it weekly, it's made the series feel pretty big in scale to be honest! A lot of lessons learned for our third attempt next year :D

Abroad in Japan

Slow doooown! I can't believe we're already on the 4th!!!! It can't be this close to the end yet, I'm not ready! I need it to last longer, at once! Lol! 😭💜 Several more 4ths please! Lmao 🤣

Jewel - (Freyja's Konjures)

Good job, Chad, your British accent is on point as always.

🥳

Abroad in Japan

Hey, Dave. I love your American accent.

Satomi Arihara

Excited to watch it Chris!
