Hey guys,
I hope you've all had a great week so far!
I've just arrived safely back in Japan, ready to get stuck into a busy few weeks of filming and editing. September is promising to be a blockbuster month and I feel rejuvenated and ready to throw myself into the madness.
Actually that's a lie. I feel jet-lagged to fuck and I look like I've spent 24 hours in a tumble dryer.
With that in mind, this week, I thought instead of doing the usual Patreon vlog, I'd put together some of the amusing deleted scenes and bloopers from the recent video "26 Traits Japanese Girls Want in a Guy."
If you haven't already seen my ego crumble and fade into nothing, check out the video first:

Unfortunately, I had to remove quite a few scenes to bring the video down in length. From personal experience, I find once you make a video over 17 minutes, viewers are far more reluctant to watch the video and likely to bail on it early. Youtube then downgrades the video in its algorithm, it doesn't get viewed, and finally you end up throwing your laptop out a window.
One scene that got the chop (which you'll find in the Patreon Vlog), is the original opening where Chiaki and I talked about Youtube - and where she destroyed my ego twice. We took it out though as we were keen to jump into the list from the get-go (given it went on and on).

We've also got a new Podcast episode out this week, where I finally reveal the REAL reason I moved to Japan (and ultimately, why my masterplan backfired).

The next video on my hit list is the Epilogue to Journey Across Japan which will be out later next week. I'm still scripting it and thinking about all the stuff to cram into it. There's also the challenge of working out how to make it entertaining for the 55,000 new subscribers we've had this month, who won't have a bloody clue what Journey Across Japan is;
"I got on a bicycle for 2 months and it accidentally ended up looking like an 8 month odyssey".
To be honest, the entire epilogue video will just be me standing on a scale crying quietly, as the camera slowly pans away for 12 minutes.
To be honest if that's not entertainment, I don't know what is.
Chris
