Ask Abroad Hangout | May Edition (Feat. Regan) | Monday 27th

So not only am I pleased to announce this month's Ask Abroad Hangout on Monday 27th, but also that we have a special guest - a blast from the past who newer viewers of Abroad in Japan may not recognise, but someone who was - at one point - something of an unofficial cast member of the channel.
It is of course Regan the Vegan (clever 'cos it rhymes); a beloved Australian who called Japan home until 2015 and who was the catalyst for the "Losing Weight in Japan" video series I produced from 2014-2015 (linked at the bottom of the post).
He was the first - and only - fellow vlogger I ever collaborated with for the longest time and we shared in the excitement of living and experiencing life in Japan for several years, before his betrayal when he moved back to the glamorous Gold Coast in Australia.
I haven't actually seen him in three years, but on Monday he's coming to visit in Sendai and I thought it'd be great to bundle him into our monthly hangout and hear his wisdom; from his thoughts on life in Japan and learning Japanese, to reminiscing on the golden era of the J-Vlogging community and making fun of the way Australian's pronounce words like "Hostel" wrong, it promises to be an entertaining hangout.
As always bring your questions about anything and feel free to submit them in the comments below this post. I apologise for not doing it at the usual weekend slot, although I was delighted to see that the UK and US have holidays on Monday anyway, so hopefully many of you guys will be able to join in.

There was a time when there was a decent community of foreign creators who would meet up and exchange ideas, before it all collapsed fairly spectacularly due to politics and mistrust.
