8 Things I Learned Making Natsuki: The Movie | Patreon Exclusive Video

Hey guys,
I hope you all had a great weekend and a good start to the week so far!
(Also, go England - what a spectacular win we had on Sunday).
The Patreon exclusive video is now up!
In “8 Things I Learned Making Natsuki: The Movie” I discuss the highs and lows of producing the documentary, and above all, the key things I learned from making it.
(Also, I know I previously said it was 10 Things I Learned - but I was able to bundle it all into 8 points. Don't worry, you've not been robbed of extra points).
► Watch it here:https://youtu.be/5xxCsQyjxnM
As always, if you guys have questions about anything in the video, please go ahead and leave your comments and questions below and I'll be here to answer!
We also had a decent Tokyo Creative video out this week, where Emma and myself tried various foods and had to work out which ones were the cheap and expensive variants. It’s one of my favourite videos from Tokyo Creative so far (mainly as I got to eat expensive stuff).

I’m currently knee deep in editing a video announcing the upcoming 2,000km mega-death-cycle challenge across Japan, and in the same video, I also taste tested Coca Cola Clear, so you can finally get the full verdict on if it's genuinely drinkable.
The Pachinko video starring Natsuki is half edited, and I’m looking forward to getting that out ASAP.
And finally, seeing as how I shouted out Natsuki’s instagram last week, it seems only far that Ryotaro should get a shoutout too!

Thanks guys and enjoy the videos!
P.S. I’ve decided this is my new favourite stress-busting song. Although, word of warning, after you listen to it, you’ll want to visit a beach: https://youtu.be/laKZia8WP3w
Great work as always.

Really nice work on the movie! Thought the song by Natsuki was both fantastic and creative. Also like the work that was put into making this. Cause I'm guessing it wasn't easy. Nevertheless, great movie. Love to see more!

Is the song not Brand New Cadillac by The Clash?

Really enjoyed the video Chris! Self criticism isn't the easiest thing to do but it was very interesting to hear your comments on the movie!

That song is actually a riff or motiff/theme based on a minor, appegiated scale (via 12-pitch based) music theory. #correctmeifimwrong #atthepub

Yes the learning process and the eventual fruition of effort is what makes creating things fun.
Thanks for the video and Natsuki the Movie was great. 😀

PS: Another favorite artist of mine for chill music is Solar Fields. He did the Mirror's Edge soundtrack if you've played that game. Just great relaxing ambient music.

You are not kidding about that song Chris. My queue of tasks at work is now the last thing on my mind, lol.

Hi Chris, this is somewhat related to your new video but not completely. How long did it take for you to acclimatise to the temperatures/humidity of Japan whether that's hot or cold? I'm just rewatching your first video and you look very...clammy, shall we say. It's not something I've noticed at all in recent videos, is that just good makeup?

The movie was wonderful, and I really enjoyed the look behind the scenes. It flowed well, and the music was perfect. I look forward to see Natsuki in New York, and the moment he discovers Sid Vicious isn’t buried there, either! ;-) If he ever decides to go to Las Vegas, let me know. I would enjoy buying him a beer!

I like these videos just as much as the regular content, especially since you're giving a bit of a behind-the-scenes access and I love that stuff. I can watch videos on how people, things and organisations work all day long!

Thanks for sharing all your experiences in making this epic movie with us.
Off topic - Since we're in the middle of the FIFA World Cup. Forgive me Chris if you don't watch football, but if you do: who would you support in the event of England playing against Japan, which at time of posting looks really possible?

That was an amazing video, thanks Chris! It gave me lots of ideas about how to approach my own work! Nothing to do with filming, but the advice seems to apply so so well. :)
Seems like you kind of dove into work too soon after completing the movie, though? Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited for all the upcoming videos mentioned in the post, but have you scheduled a holiday? I'm selfishly thinking of my long-term gain from your amazing content ^_^
