Looking forward to watching Life is Balloons. We've turned our neighbors onto your channel and they enjoy all your vids as well. We'll have a viewing party! While giving the spotlight to Natsuki is a great choice we just want to say: It's really awesome that you have taken your love and study of film and gone this route. Maybe a subject for a future podcast: what movies do you like? Which ones will you watch over and over and find more to appreciate? A director/writer you will always watch, no matter what reviews say?

Really never understood why people write the paintings title as 'Mona Lisa' when it is is 'Monna Lisa'. Her hair is actualy ginger or red if you prefer. It is a shame it has degraded so much that its true beauty does not shine through with all the caked on dirt. Brighton has no fresh cod or any other except sea Bass and has not for years.

Hello Chris, slightly off topic post here. We use Kodi to access interesting tv not available in the US. Saw a title Cat Nation about cats in Japan and you were the host?! It's a 52 min long feature. Story? Hope your KFC was wonderful.

The cutaway clips are really great quality as is the clip at the end...the next Martin Scorsese you might say! Genuinely quite excited to see where you go in my hometown Brighton.

I always think about that documentary but I don't think this is going to be as fly-on-a-wall as a Story of Love and Hate. Sean (the filmmaker) spent months filming with Naoki for that, just sitting in their tiny apartment haha. But its definitely influenced the style in some ways.

Natsuki the movie looks REALLY interresting. Keep up the good work. Question for you: It didn't really look like it, but style-wise, are you trying to make it look like "Japan: a story of love and hate" or "The great happiness place"? You reccomended the first one, so i am curious as to how much you think it inspired you in natsuki the movie. Hey Chris! Me and my friend are in Tokyo, having traveled from Sweden, and love your and Natsuki's work! We'd love to come see the concert if it's not too much trouble :D A bit last minute, I guess, but would have been fun none the less!

Yeah.... and Europeans think Americans take short holidays. I told a friend from the UK I was taking a week and half trip to Tokyo and he said, "that's all?"

Merry Christmas!! It always makes me sad when my japanese co-workers and friends are always like, "yeah I'm going to take a loooooooong 3 day vacation". Not exactly considered long in gaijin books, but such is reality in Japan.

Can we meet Natsuki's goal in reverse? If we visit Japan, can fans come see him?

I like that you are somewhat living out your initial goal as a filmmaker despite all the twists and turns you've gone through. I'm in a similar state right now; I wanted to become an English teacher and had to shift around to engineering and other fields before I discovered the JET programme and am now settling in to a Linguistics degree.

I often say Sweden and Japan are pretty similar in many ways, that is true and not true when it comes to Christmas. We had a celibration going on already when Christianity found its way to us, but no Father Christmas and all that jazz, so they just went with it keept some and threw away some, and so even Swedish people get to celibrate Christmas today. But were not saying Merry Christmas here, were saying "God Jul". And that is ofc what i wish you all, a very God Jul!

Great preview. When we see Natsuki in your videos he mostly speaks English. I like that he’s speaking Japanese here. Almost a different person.
