What a fun day we had!
Until Natsuki did a backwards somersault in a wind tunnel.
So we thought it'd be fun for Natsuki to try an indoor skydive en-route to Stonehenge, and thus at 9am on a Friday morning, Natsuki learned to fly.
And flew he did - for over 20 minutes - even displaying moments of elegance along the way.
But just as I thought we'd be able to successfully leave without incident and with Natsuki still intact, he daringly (and somewhat unwisely) attempted a backwards somersault, landing directly on his head from about four feet high.
At first the pain was bearable and he encouraged us to proceed as planned to Stonehenge.
Then at Stonehenge he deteriorated to the point of barely being able to walk and turn his neck, and we knew it was bad when started swearing out loud and shouting "fucking neck" with every step he took around the 5,000 year old monument.
Fortunately, we still got some great footage of Natsuki at Stonehenge and he hid the pain well on camera.
After getting to Brighton we headed straight to the hospital where sat and waited to be seen for over 3 long hours, in a waiting room that regularly invaded by horrific drunkards (I have no idea how the staff deal with it).
Luckily it turned out Natsuki's injury wasn't serious (aka. a fracture), and was more akin to the sort of injury you get from stubbing your finger - except in this case, it was Natsuki's head.
He was feeling slightly better in the evening after taking some powerful painkillers filled with Valium, we were able to film some scenes of Natsuki trying fish and chips and strolling down Brighton Pier gambling his money away.
And so despite the worst, we still had a great day and were able to get some amazing footage, from Natsuki skydiving and standing in front of Stonehenge, to wandering the streets of Brighton.
Best of all, one brilliant scene in particular came out of it, as the injury gave us an excuse to film something unusual the next day.
But more on that in tomorrow's journal post!
(Feel free to guess what it is below though).
