So, if you would be so kind, Cataphrak, can you please tell us the choices that you consider canon. Such as, obviously, the fact that Cazarosta received his brevet promotion and also becomes a Major. (Also possible that our player character may be a "close relationship" of his.) Other choices or outcomes such as that would be greatly appreciated.
