Fiddling around with super heroine ruination (again): Captain Marvel
Added 2022-07-11 06:59:23 +0000 UTCIf you’ve been here for a while, you’ve probably noticed that Maverick and I share an affinity for the intersection of super heroine characters and weight gain. Recently, while discussing such characters and related cosplay scenarios with another likeminded friend, I wanted to exemplify a particular look I had in mind for Captain Marvel.
An illustration by the talented Oda-Lee leapt to mind, wherein he recreated an original comic book scene but with Captain Marvel drunk and “out of shape.” That was his description, anyway—an understatement, in my estimation, for the delightfully flabby, potbellied lump he made of her, but who am I to quibble? As good as it is, however, the illustration still wasn’t quite the right fit for my purposes. Or, to be more specific, Ms. Danvers was still just a bit too fit.
So, disregarding my crippling lack of talent for such things, I set about modifying Oda-Lee’s creation to suit my mood. The results are what you see here.
With my “help,” the half-Kree hot mess:
- lost several cup sizes for smaller, awkwardly flabby tits;
- packed back on every ounce of shed weight from up top several times over by way of thicker back rolls and an even fatter gut, and;
- ballooned those seemingly still-toned upper arms into bulky, blubbery, overstuffed sausages.
It wouldn’t be fair to leave it there, though. Balance is important, after all. To that end, what she’s gained in weight she’s lost in strength…and speed, and stamina, and coordination, and, well, probably pretty much every notable ability. A few tweaked details around the phone help to convey the concept.
And…that’s basically it! No insightful commentary or connections to some bigger project here. Just a goofy, ham-handed bit of image manipulation created for personal amusement. I thought might be worth sharing, especially for folks with a “disempowerment” itch to scratch.

Your musing got me thinking about when I played with G.I.Joe figures as a kid. Back when I was 10, I was perfectly happy playing out elaborate good-versus-evil battles between the virtuous G.I. Joe and the villainous Cobra; however, as I transitioned into a teenager (and puberty took hold of both my pecker and my preferences) I started "fleshing out" the pre-battle backstories. One of my favorite scenarios was, after an extended period of peace, the members of G.I.Joe, particularly the girls (Cover Girl. Lady Jaye, Scarlet, etc.), let themselves go without the constant threat of Cobra. The battles themselves became almost secondary to play-acting failed physicals, sloppy training sessions, demotions, and even the eventual booting from the team of certain characters. (Cover Girl, in particular, never seemed to be able to curb her gluttonous behavior.) Of course, a rejuvenated Cobra would always launch a surprise attack just as G.I.Joe's morale and fitness were at their nadir, which provided plenty of opportunity for sloppy fighting sequences and taunting by the enemy! Ah, to be 13 again! :) Maverick
