Helloo~ooo everyone!  Time for this week's update! I have cleared a major milestone for the game development. So..yay! 

Let's get into it.

Summary

• I...I DID IT.

Writing

 I finished the draft. @_@

639,000 words for the rough draft.

I still have to revise Kav, Noel, Raif, and Yren's ending chapters and code them. So the word count is first going to increase...then decrease. 

I still think it's going to be just around 600k in the end. Maybe around 610k? But we'll see!

So I'm technically not done with the writing yet but with the draft done, that's one major thing finished and what is left is just...revising. 

Revising goes a bit faster when I'm working on self-contained and separated portions like the endings since I don't have to constantly double check for continuity across routes.

I'm hoping to be done with it by the end of next week.

Art 

One new BG sketch of the dark world. Wibbly mushrooms! LoL

He's finally getting to the prologue BGs I have been waiting for. LoL

Yay!

Other

I restarted my Yren playthrough of the game which is me playing Yren's path with self voicing enabled.  This is really useful for spotting any issues with the narrative.

I'm not that far in and the "issues" so far have been pretty minor. Honestly the biggest thing I've done so far is add multiple new choices in.

I'm not doing any sprite coding or anything like that right now. I'm just reading the text and looking for story issues.

(Normally I do this in alphabetically but am going in reverse alphabetical this time.)

Upcoming Week

So this week my goal is to finish a first round of revisions on the endings and get those coded. That'll give me a loose final word count and let me really move on and focus on other things - finishing up the UI, adding features like the flowcharts, and working on CGs, beta testing, etc.

Finally.

This is kind of a short update this week instead of a huge ramble about writing. Being done with the draft is such a major accomplishment. That is the biggest hurdle crossed. And now it is is the journey ticking other things off the list so we can make it to release

(Also, the portrait isn't a CG or anything - just a random Asher drawing. I wanted to do some character art to celebrate being done with the draft. Another portrait is coming next week.)
