Hallooo~ooo! Time for the GS devlog for this week.

This Week's Summary:

• Finished Ch 8 of Yuu's route.
• Then Re-wrote Ch 8 of Yuu's route.
• Halfway through Ch 9 of Yuu's route.

The Ramble:

Okay so this week the first thing I did was finish Chapter 8 of Yuu's route. Unfortunately I was feeling frustrated at having somewhat lost the thread of Morgan's plot arc in this route. This is a plot-light route in that it's much more character focused since I didn't want to do another plot-heavy route like Reuben's route.

So this is more in the vein of Lance and Ari's routes.

Typically I do not allow myself to do major edits or rewrites while I'm drafting but sometimes in order to pull the route back onto the right path, I do have to go back and fix things. And fixing chapter 8 was needed.

So I did an overhaul of it and really fixed some of the issues about it that were bothering me before I finally moved on to chapter 9.

I ended up pulling a scene from Chapter 10 into the end of Chapter 9, but I haven't written that part out yet and I'm thinking I may actually split it between Ch 9 and 10 instead of having it fully in Chapter 9.

These kinds of reorganisation of scenes and parts of the outline are pretty common because sometimes as I write, I realise that things are just not flowing in alignment with my original chapter divisions.

Chapter 9 is about halfway complete. There is a serious conversation that happens between Magnus and Morgan which I'm nearly done with. There is a transition scene that I have to write and then a plot related scene (the one I'm probably going to split).

Aside from writing...I have done nothing else.

Yuu's route is currently 72,000 words and I have about 36,000 words left to write (more or less).

My overall total word count is about 1,040,000 but my estimated coded word count is about 993,000 (so I haven't hit that 1,000,000 marker just yet. But I'm close.)

Upcoming Week:

Writing Purgatory continues.

This week I want to finish up Chapter 9 and get Chapter 10 out of the way. There should be a big plot reveal at the end of Chapter 9, which will start leading into the story climax - which is only a few chapters away now.
