Hi everyone! Posting at the normal time this week! LoL!

This Week's Summary:

The Ramble:

*crawls in*

Okay so I finished two CGs. And then coded them (I had three total to code). But one of the CGs I completed was a "set" and of the ones I coded, two of them were "sets" so I really had to cod 5 CGs and not just 3. It increased the game files by over 100 files!

One of the CGs I did this week was a stupidly complex CG - just a complex pose and I really struggled with Morgan's arm placement in the variation (and am still not happy with it but I don't think I can really get it better than this because her arm is in a funky pose and at a funky angle. 😔😔

I was actually surprised to see how many files I actually added to the game this time around.

In the past, I never really counted how many files I was uploading but now that I'm using git hub for version parity and backing stuff up, it tells me how much new stuff was added or how many changes were made, so I know exactly how many new files I'm adding.

It's easy to forget just how much goes into customisation but when I see how many files I'm actually juggling around, it's a good reminder.

Anyway, the "Flirting" CG took up most of my time this week because it was so complicated. ;A;

Pose aside, it also involved a lighting effect because there's a bright window behind them so I wanted to put some cool (as in colour temperature - not awesomeness) shadow over their faces. With Quill, that's easy. With Morgan, the shadow has to be applied to and clipped to each individual recolour of each individual component.

This isn't always the case but it kind of depends on the type of lighting effect. If it requires a blending mode like "multiply" then I need to clip it to the parts (and their recolours) individually. If it's an effect I can keep on 'normal mode' then I can usually keep it as part of her hair layer and not worry about clipping it to anything.

The effect for this CG was a multiply layer. So it's more work. 😔😔

I could have left it off, but it just looked better with it.

Anyway, the other CG I did this week was the BAD ENDING CG and let me just say that it is 100% my favourite bad ending CG.

I love it. 🤩🤩

I did take a few breaks this week on days I woke up with my hand or shoulder bothering me. There was one day where I worked through it anyway and the next day I could definitely feel that I over-did it. So yeah. Being careful about that now.

I have just one CG left - the passionate ending CG and it will be a one parter. Also, I won't have to have recolour Morgan's hair for it. Maybe not her eyes if I make them closed (Mwa ha ha ha ha!) so that reduces the work by a lot.

I also worked on Ian's sprite a bit. I didn't end up getting it finished and coded because I somehow decided to recolour it because something about the colour palette was just bothering me. So I spent most of my time (until my hand started hurting) playing around with his colours instead of getting his expressions completed. LoL

Finally, I set up Quill's walkthrough and tested to make sure the choices were all listed correctly and that the walkthrough actually works for unlocking the endings. (I set up both the backer-only guide and the public guide)

And I also put together Quill's content list.

I did both of these on a day where I was taking a break from art. They needed to be done anyway (and I needed the walkthrough done before beta testing) so it's good to get those out of the way.

Quill's route is similar to Lance in that it has fewer things to make note of than some of the other routes. It's not as chill a route as Lance, but it is pretty chill compared to some of the others.

Sneak Peeks:

Upcoming Week:

Finishing the art (again! LoL)

Okay but this time I really think I can get it done this week though as I only have one CG and I don't think it's as complicated as the ones I did this past week. I knew that "flirting CG" was going to be an ordeal and it just took more work than I realised. Paying attention to my hand and shoulder also just impacts work more than I realised (I think it also demonstrates how hard I usually push myself without much focus on my well-being. =w= Oops. I've also tried to be better about not working the entire weekend and actually taking time for myself two days a week. 💦💦)

So yeah. I'm going to probably get the CG done first and then move on to finish up the sprites.

And then it will be beta testing time! 🤩🤩

That's all for now. I'll see you next time (hopefully by then I will be pushing out the beta testing version or will have already done it.
