This Week's Summary:
- Added in new glossary entries and all glossary links
- Finished 2nd CG + mini hand CG
- Coded in all the CGs.
- Finished all the flowchart images (COMPLETE WITH ONE (1) TYPO)
- Coded in all the CGs currently complete
- Did one pass to make sure things were unlocking properly
- Started 1 new CG
The Ramble:
So I've essentially rounded the bend when it comes to getting the coding and assets completed for Quill's route.
What I have left are a few remaining sprites (the "extras"), the rest of the CGs, and any BG animations I want to add - of which there honestly won't be many because so many of Quill's BGs are city BGs and interiors where it's pretty hard to insert meaningful animations.
The big thing I got completed this week was the flowchart for Quill's route. These are all now created and set up in the game. I only did one pass to check if things unlock but obviously these need to be checked more thoroughly during testing.
Once flowcharts were complete I went through to add the glossary updates to Quill's route. There actually aren't quite as many as in other routes - I did have to create a few new glossary entries but for the most part, this was pretty easy too.
Once that was done, I started working on CGs again.
This week I completed the first CG in Quill's route as well as the mini "hands" CG for the love scene (which posed a slight challenge due to...positioning. LoL!) I drew it, then hated it. Then redrew it...then hated that. Then redrew it and hated *that*, then redrew it and am more or less satisfied.
I also started on the next CG, which is a slightly more complex one. I think, of the rest of Quill's BGs, all but 1 will be complicated. 😔 I spent some time looking at my CG options and where they fall in the route, then deciding what scenes to illustrate based on where they fall in the chapters, to make sure they're as well spaced out as possible.
And that is where we are. Just have to finish up the remaining CGs and sprites and I think we'll be good to start beta testing! OWO
Sneak Peeks:
Flowcharts!
Upcoming Week:
I don't think I can finish up all the CGs and sprites in the upcoming week. As much as I'm putting the sprites off (they're a little more tedious), I may get those out of the way so I can tick that off the list and then focus on CGs.
I can probably get the remaining art done over the course of the next two weeks though.
I also need to write up Quill's guide for both testers and to release when his route does. And set up his content guide...
And then we'll get into beta testing.
I've been going through Reuben's outline just to spruce it up and try to identify any problems it might have so I can get started writing his route next.
