Sharing a bit of hidden lore

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share with you a lore related thing that isn't directly discussed in the game but that you all might find interesting! 

It's to do with the passage of time and the way characters age in Gilded Shadows.

I think everyone is aware by now that years on Arcalis are a bit shorter than years on Earth, making everyone's chronological age seem much higher. For instance, Magnus is 42 in Arcalian years, but only 28 in Earth years.

But there's actually another element of their ageing that I don't address in the game. And that's the fact that they live longer, too. At this point in history (which is centuries in the future), normal human life span is about 150 earth years. Which is 225 Arcalian years. =O

Because of this, I decided it makes sense that even if humans reach physical maturity at roughly the same point, they would generally age slower after this point where their bodies maintain their peak state for a much longer period of time.

This means that everyone's "prime" years and "middle age" are probably proportionally longer than childhood/adolescence or old age.

This would be more noticeable on older characters (like Keres Fianchetto) who should probably look younger than they're depicted in the game. I decided this would probably cause more questions for players and require explanations that are difficult to work into the game, and I left it out (SOMEWHAT...some characters do look younger than they should).

The interesting thing as well is that this is just the natural lifespan. There are treatments and methods to extend life even further (such as using cybernetics and gene therapy) but some of them are controversial and considered unethical. 

I ended up making a whole slide show to help myself keep it straight.

Sometimes it's helpful to have things like this set up just to keep information straight in my head. And it can be fun to share them with others when it's something that doesn't really even come up in the game at all but does exist in the lore.

(If lore doesn't exist in the game, does it really exist? LoL)
