This Week's Summary:

The Ramble:

Hi everyone!

This is a quickie this week. I want to let you all know that we finished up with final testing but of course we now have to go through the process of getting final builds uploaded for the early release of GS to backers and supporters who qualify.

As always, the hold up is (and will continue to be) Steam.

On Itch, the only thing required is to set the price, upload the zip file, and send out the download keys. This would be great if not for the fact that many people want their keys exclusively on Steam.

Steam's requirements are annoyingly different. They have an sdk you must download, several files that need to be adjusted/set up in specific ways, things like steam achievements to set up, and then behind the scenes they have builds and depots that must be set up. Then you publish a game (which isn't the same as making the game live on the store front), then the game gets approved (a 3-5 day process) and then you make and send out keys.

There are just a lot more working parts to it.

I have contacted someone to help me set up steam achievements since I haven't done it before and am not sure how.

And ultimately, that's kind of the hold up at the moment.

I had forgotten that Steam had a second approval period for all games. πŸ™„  It's been so long since I uploaded Changeling that I don't even remember how to do it so I have to refresh myself on all that.

Testing concluded on Friday so getting the builds setup will be my focus for the next few days. And that's kind of where we are.

Upcoming Week:

Writing while working to get the steam builds ready to go!
