OpenTrackr Finances (2021)
Added 2022-02-07 16:35:32 +0000 UTCHi Everyone,
As promised last year, I plan on being transparent with how funds are being spent. I do this by publishing all incoming and outgoing transactions, so it's clear how many funds are left and what our monthly expenses are.
This isn't entirely foolproof, but it should at least show what your money is being spent on instead of it being a "black hole" :)

Today I'm proud to present the first full year. This document contains all transactions up to 2021-12-31.
If you don't want to open the document or just want to take a peek, here are the main numbers:
Between 2020-06-04 - 2021-12-31 we've had:
- Incoming: €5,233.91
- Outgoing: €2,737.99
This was primarily due to some big bitcoin donations, but was accompanied by a steady flow of donations through Patreon! (you!)
As of 2021-12-31 we had €2,495.92 in reserves. If we have no price increases, hardware failures, or other unexpected expenses this would mean we have enough funds to run for over 2 years. That is awesome!
Also somewhat related to finances, but our datacenter has offered a 100% green energy option for an additional €6.05/month. Personally, I'm in favour, but considering OpenTrackr is community funded, I'd love to hear your opinion about it. I might run a poll later so we can have a proper vote about it.
If there are any questions, feel free to let me know.

2022-02-13 11:44:48 +0000 UTCI don't feel strongly one way or the other, but sure looks like the funds are there to go for green energy.
