Update & Bandwidth statistics (June 2021)

Hi Everyone,

You may or may not have noticed a sudden drop in total seeds/peers listed on the tracker, I don't know for sure what caused this.
I think the previous peer/seed count was inflated by spam IPs, because the current seed/peer listing seems to reflect the day/night cycle way better. Also the active unique torrent count is totally unaffected, indicating the tracker is still functioning properly.

I've tested connectivity from various places and networks all around the world and I don't see any connectivity issues. (Network analysis shows a total TCP retransmission rate of 3.8%, which is similar to our usual values)
However if anyone does experience connectivity issues since a few weeks please let me know, I'd love to look into it!

I've considered enabling conntrack to limit the amount of requests to the tracker per IP per second, but in the end this would just lead to a strongly increased CPU usage while the possible "damage" is very minimal.
Having a dedicated network hardware firewall could probably offload this, but this would be quite expensive and as explained above, spam requests don't really harm tracker functionality.

For those interested here are the bandwidth statistics of June

In June 2021 (01-06-2021 00:00:00 CEST - 30-06-2021 23:59:59 CEST) we've used 374.24 TB of bandwidth, 101.47TB received and 272.77TB transmitted.

As the previous bandwidth statistics have been incomplete, I am not able to compare this to last month. But the July stats will show the usual comparison again.

I'm glad we have our 10Gbps network connection, because at peaks we've touched the >1Gbps tx :)
