Checking in - What I learned, what's going on, and the future

Hey, so it’s been 10 days since Toph Heavy was released, and even though I’m still on vacation for the next few days, I thought I’d give you an update on what I learned from Toph Heavy, what’s going on right now, and what’s coming in the future. This is going to be long, and grammar is going to be weird, but I hope you’ll bear with me.

So first things first, I am recovering. The first thing that happened after finishing Toph Heavy was that I got really sick and a little depressed. I am largely recovered now. I'm told that this is typical of finishing long projects. It’s just why I wasn’t super communicative at first.

I also learned selling posts is a great alternative for people who don’t want to subscribe. I’m going to keep doing it. If you subscribe, you’ll get regular updates, and have influence in what gets created. If you want to dip out because times are tough (I get it, they are for me too.) and only buy finished work. That’s cool too. I want you to know that Toph Heavy will probably be the most expensive thing I will ever post because of the amount of time and effort that went into it.

Which brings me to what I'm doing right now. Frankly, I learned so much about what not to do from making Toph Heavy. My process was too bloated. The Toph Heavy PSDs show that I just had… way too many layers. I gotta get better but without sacrificing quality. Starting in April, I’m studying a course I bought from a website called “coloso.” The website features a bunch of Korean and Japanese artists sharing their techniques. I want to improve in the anime style and hopefully learn some techniques for going faster and more efficiently. Would you be interested in seeing the studies I produce from these lessons?  Let me know. If you do, I’ll post them through April.

As for what comes next, I’m splitting into NSFW and SFW. You know how things are going in the world nowadays, and I think it’s a good insurance policy to have SFW to fall back on. The SFW will be interesting and fun, and always involve a busty-ish protagonist. The first two weeks of every month will be SFW, and the last two weeks will be NSFW. During the first two weeks there will eventually be a poll for the NSFW weeks. So let’s talk about the SFW and NSFW projects. I’ll put these in order of priority. When one gets done, we’ll move on to the next thing.

SFW-

Artbook of my Father’s work.  - So as you probably know, my father was an artist too. He taught me a lot about how I approach my work, and was very accepting of what I liked to draw. He’d often give me advice on “how to draw sexy babes.” Advice I don’t think I follow very well tbh. Anyway, he was way better than me and had a storied career that took him from film and tv, to the Washington Post and advertising. His work is reminiscent of Heinrich Kley, and it’s just… gorgeous. I want more people to see it so I’m putting together an art book and shopping it around to publishers. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can post it here because… well… it isn’t my work and while my Dad was accepting of what I like to make… the world kinda isn’t. It is something I’m working on though, and taking up some of my time. I’ll be honest, I’m hoping for a little extra money for my mom. She’s losing sleep over potentially losing her house if she loses her Social Security and I want to drum up interest in my Dad’s work and paintings to hopefully help her. (That’s another reason it won’t be part of the patreon. It’s for her, not me.)

Patreon voted thingy - I bet you thought I forgot about those votes. I didn’t! Once my dad’s thing is done. This is the priority for the SFW weeks.

Tachyon - This is an evolution of the story about the last living person. I don’t want to go too far in to it, and it’s low priority at this point. Gives me time to refine myself until it is a priority.

NSFW

You Laugh You Titfuck - Part 1 — A small paizuri comic about Zentreya the vtuber. The plot goes like this: Famous streamer Zentreya hosts a YLYL stream where, when she laughs, she spins a wheel with a punishment. There are thousands of potential punishments, and one of them is to give Paizuri to a viewer. With a 1 in 10,000 chance of landing on the punishment Zen arrogantly claims that it will never happen, and RNG does not look favorably upon her arrogance. It's ok "they got bigger" for a reason.

(This is a “part 1” because I want to do several short comics of this of her giving paizuri in different outfits, not because I want to turn this into the new Toph Heavy. They’ll be about 5 pages long each.)

(I’m also starting with this because I love the aesthetic of her recent models. It’s the aesthetic I’m shooting for. I probably won’t hit it, but I’d like to be in the ballpark.)

Patreon Voted Paizuri Comics - These will be characters that you suggest and vote for in small 4 to 6 page comics. Think Mai Shiranui. Think Power Girl.  At first it will only be Paizuri as a way to establish a stylistic consistency (also… the title of the patreon.)  but It could move on to other things.

Kei Undercover - A comic about Kei from Dirty Pair Flash. She’s 23 she’s been promoted to a desk job because her partner, Yuri, has moved on from the 3WA. Her promotion has confined her to a desk with a boatload of paper work. She’s been so overwhelmed that she hasn’t had time to find a date, and she feels like she’s about to explode. That may change as the most notorious gun runner in the galaxy apparently has a type, and Kei fits the bill perfectly.  Watch Kei go under cover and then under the covers. This comic will end with a bang — then an explosion.

This one is for me. Everyone thinks Toph is my waifu but that's wrong. Kei from Dirty Pair Flash is. Kei exemplifies my belief that an attractive bust is about the proportional relationship between the bust and the torso. She's not like "toph heavy huge" but her proportions are perfect. I mean… let me offer some of the reference pictures I'll be working from

There isn’t enough good art of her getting railed, and I've always been too afraid to make it. I've drawn some art of her in the past, and I always felt like I missed the mark. I believe I can hit that mark now. I share these images to see if I can get you guys excited about the character as well and to show my personal goal for the aesthetic. Simple cel-shading.

This kei comic is something I plan to be long-ish. However, I’m only going to work on it after the Patreon Poll comic is done.
