Early Bird Update 2/20/25

Hey guys. It's time for an update. It's very early in the morning for me, because my nights have been sleepless from trying to get this done. This update will be a little different because I am currently doing five things at once racing to upload the entire thing. Rather than upload absolutely everything (which is a lot) here are some choice samples.

First, I am adding dialogue to chapters 5 and 6. I am almost done with 5.

 Second, I am redrawing two panels of two separate pages in chapters 5 and 6. Here is the before and after of one of them.

This isn't finished. There are still some edges that need cleaning. I just felt like the original version of this page made her breasts feel too "balloon-ish." While I sometimes fudge the effect gravity has on her for the sake of aesthetics, the previous version was a bridge too far.

 Third, I am touching up some of the colors in the Toph and Azula scenes in part 3. This usually involves adjusting a single layer and maybe adding a specular effect. There was a saturation before. This saturation issue pushed some reds in to purples and fuschias. I use the following page specifically because the original looks good but on some pages it did not. I made the adjustment even to the good pages for the sake of consistency. I think it looks good, but I realize that some may prefer the original version. But the secondary goal is to make the Toph and Azula section of Part 3 as consistent as possible.

 Fourth, I am saving all of Toph Heavy in to a single download I'm calling Toph Heavy Complete(ish)


Fifth, I am drawing an extra 3 pages to close things out. This is where I'm at with them.

One thing to note about these replacement pages, and indeed some of these redraws is that I'm trying to do them as quickly as possible so I'm forgoing the inking step. It looks a little sloppy to me, but the drawings are strong enough to carry imo.

The following is, obviously, in a very early stage. It's a challenging final page.
 

It is especially annoying considering that these PSD files are so big at full resolution that they take like... 20 - 30 minutes to save on my computer. This drastically slows down my workflow. I am, at best, getting six pages done a day.

Speaking of PSDs I'm considering of uploading some low resolution PSD files for those interested. Now, even though they will be lo resolution there are so many of them that I can't upload them all. So let's wittle them down to 10. What pages would you like to see a PSD of?  

My next upload will be of chapters 5 and 6 for proofreading. Not sure when that will be, but I'm shooting for next week.
