Daily Update 3-4-2024
Added 2024-03-05 00:23:39 +0000 UTCToday was busy and I didn't get as much as I wanted to done. Monday is a day when I'm warming up for the rest of the week. First is an upcoming project. A comic commission of Lois Lane growing some huge tats after a chance encounter with some special Kryptonite, and what Clark does to get them back to normal.



As you can see it's still in the rough stage. There will be another page, maybe two, but that's it. A relatively short Paizuri comic that I hope to do more of.
With regards to Toph Heavy, Monday is a day I like to focus on something process oriented. Today, the process is Ambient Occlusion. This pages are from the next chapter and I'm just trying to get a jump on things.


Ambient Occlusion is when two planes come close together or meet they create a shadow. You can see AO in a lot of games and it adds a nice level of depth. I feel like it's super important to give a certain level of depth, but when you first add it, it's hardly noticeable. It's also very tedious since there's a lot of push and pull, so each page takes about an hour to go through all of the AO. Even then, it's something I usually adjust during the lighting process.
I also made some minor render adjustments to Toph's back on this page.

I'm not sure if any of the Toph Heavy stuff today is super noticable, but its super important.
Expect more noticeable rendering work tomorrow.
