Donald's Quacky Duck City (Second Gate)

Tokyo Disney honors Donald Duck's 90th birthday with this limited-time offering of decorations and duck seat shaped food.

Forget New York. Forget Paris. This, Quacky Duck City, is the greatest city in the world (next to Buena Park, California).

A month long celebration of Jason's favorite sweets, treats, and obscure references!

Cloaca Seat City

I literally JUST got back from Japan and we managed to see Donald Quack City including the parade. We didn’t have a chance to eat any of the special foods but the parade swept us away way more than I expected. There’s a parade break that happens where they play a version of “Ode to Joy” with the lyrics saying “Donald is our super star.” My wife joked while we were watching that we’ve joined a cult where our God is a Duck! lol The music pumps MUCH louder in the Japan parks vs the US parks so it almost feels like a concert. Which made the whole thing way more interesting exciting than expected.

Jason’s impressions bring me to life.

Nate Zablan

Honestly, like all of his impressions, Jason’s Donald Duck was great. He’s the Rich Little of podcasting

Tyler Rampley

So, we are all going to start an unsanctioned Babu Frik birthday celebration, right?

Champagne and Gummy bears

Yes, they’re called tenugui! They’re great for hot weather and, like you said, to dry your hands. They’re basically handkerchiefs and usually have some beautiful patterns.

Annie

I was surprised because I swear it’s not the first time cloacas have come up on the pod

Fiona

Japan is serious about the little towels. My wife is always handing them to me - some Disney. They say you need one because rest rooms don’t always have paper towels.

Snacky Jason city 🌟

Sierra Houk

never thought i’d have the pleasure of hearing Mike and Scott learn in real-time what a cloaca is

Ethan Dickinson

Jason month must be "Rammy Jason City"

Andrew Fiffick

it's about time!

Lux

I was at Tokyo Disney for the first week of Quacky Duck City and the Gua Gua Stick was literally THEE hottest accessory. I felt like a dumbass for not having a Gua Gua Stick.

Emma Chapple

Literally only these boys could redefine the male gaze.

seat talk!

I’ve suggested this for other asks, but I want to hear an episode on Birnbaum’s vacation guides, as Scott once mentioned he read them as a kid and it could be an episode.

The character of the "Disney Dad" that's been established on this show has always seemed to reflect the simplistic ways in which children view their parents, and the ways that parents de-emphasize aspects of themselves in order to create a harmonious family unit (and by extension, a harmonious family vacation). This archetype plays with the tension between the milquetoast presentation of their interests and the unknowable nature of their past-selves and true present desires. In this way, I think Mike was spot-on with his assessment of Scott's comment. Trying to suppress your libidinal nature in a family-friendly context is classic Disney Dad behavior, even if, in this instance, Scott did not specifically have his own family in mind.

Hard agree that Star Wars needs to be less revered again as ip. Not just the hoopla, gimme Star Wars weekends again! Can finally do something fun with Galaxy's Edge, make Crylo dance to Call Me Maybe in a plea to get Darth Vadar's attention, and Babu Frick can be the dj. When I worked at Studios it was the last few years they had the weekends and while extremely busy, they were the best times to work.

Lindy B

Shake your quack quack stick had me crying laughing at my desk this morning!

Amalia

On the subject people intensely liking "cool" Tokyo Disney music I think this should be brought to Mike's attention, this may be his calling https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7esFWAhmBI/?igsh=ZDcyd2U3bTIxcnpl

Sam Rocklin

John Williams' character "Oma Tres" is an anagram of "Maestro".

Nathan Walz

Try the duck, Mike. Fat equals flavor.

Philip E.

You asked on twitter: “We often bring up episode ideas while recording, and then completely forget them. What are the unmade P:TR episodes you are dying for?” but I don’t have twitter so I am requesting “Wires!” here. In Stunt Show Showdown 2 you all suggested an episode about musical acts performing on wires in their act. Garth Brooks and Nsyc with Christopher Cross performing Sailing was brought up

Lobo

finally, some cloaca talk!

chris

Once Donald puts that admiral hat on, the id comes out and the dark desires surface.

Excitemike 64

I want his ice-cream seat. Pics look great.
