As a longtime Iowa resident, and coming off the high of being there last night, there is a deep, rich, and insane history of events that have taken place at the Iowa State Fair - including: A deep fried history of foods on a stick, including 63 currently available foods on a stick! An elephant bought by the fair by raising money from schoolchildren! The crashing of two locomotives together for crowd amusement, more than once!! A plane crashing into a house in a staged spectacle!!! Butter sculptures of P:TR favorites, including - The Peanuts gang, Garth Brooks, Snow White and the 7 Dwarves (too scary for Mike, sorry!!), the Star Trek crew, and the big guy himself, JC and the gang in a butter The Last Supper!!!! And for Scott, and a 50-year history of musical acts that have no reason to ever appear in a list together, including SIX appearances of The Beach Boys and NO appearances by Green Day!!!!! And if you are worried, "Hey Missi, this is a theme park podcast at heart? Where are the rides?" Well, not only does the State Fair have a Midway... it is home to THE MOST BORING RIDE THAT HAS EVER EXISTED. IT IS SO BORING, IT WILL MAKE YOU VISERALLY ANGRY... YE. OLD. MILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! (I beg of you, DO NOT LOOK UP THE RIDE BEFORE YOU (if it gets voted on) RECORD THE EP. YOU MUST RECORD YOUR REACTION TO THIS RIDE.)
