Have you ever held onto a prejudice for so long, only to find out in a single day just how ridiculous it was—and that you were the one standing in your own way? That’s been me with France. I never wanted to visit. I’d heard that people there were rude and refused to speak English, even if they could. And honestly, I was over the Eiffel Tower just from seeing it everywhere in photos and documentaries. So, I stayed away.
But then, two friends and I chose to ignore our own prejudice—not because we were trying to challenge it, but because France happened to be the easiest option. And let me tell you: it’s amazing. The people are friendly, prices aren’t bad, plenty of people speak English, and the food? Incredible. If you've been avoiding France like I did, I can only say: drop the bias and go.
