That's a Wrap: September 2025

Here's a recap of what we did last month!

September kicked off with an answer to your mountain of requests for KPop Demon Hunters! We followed that up with another recent hit, Thunderbolts* (aka The New Avengerz with a "z"). It wouldn't be autumn without When Harry Met Sally, and we continued the nostalgia trip with our take on the internet's diagnoses of Winnie the Pooh characters. Writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods graciously hosted us at their theater, The Last Picture House, to discuss the family in A Quiet Place. And we concluded the month with a very different family dynamic in Crazy Rich Asians. Big month! Which video was your favorite?

Over on Patreon, we discussed which movie sequels we'd fix. September's deep dive was made special by guests Bryson from Haminations and Rebecca Parham from Let Me Explain Studios; Alan asked them about their animation influences. During the shoot, we did another Patreon-only livestream. These are always so much fun! And Patrons got an exclusive episode with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, again from their theater, to talk about the psychology of filmmaking!

The September shoot + FanX is always a highlight week of the year! Lots of exciting episodes are in the pipeline—including a Christmas episode, and the return of David Does for another round of D&D with some very fun guests! And we had a blast at our two FanX panels and hanging out at the con with our kids. Thanks for saying hi and/or attending our panels. We always love getting to meet and talk with you! And we hope to iron out those technical difficulties for our panel at New York Comic Con.

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming next!

Cinema Therapy is finally visiting the east coast, and we'll be at New York Comic Con! Our panel is on Saturday, October 11th at 1:30pm. They announced our panel after tickets sold out (boo!) but if you already have tickets, we hope to see you there. We're working to make up for the situation by hosting a fan meetup. Stay tuned to our socials for details!

We're preparing for the next... two shoots. Now that Jono lives in Utah again, we can do "mini shoots" when the need arises. In October, we're doing a few episodes with another (very cool) YouTube channel. Then in November, we have our last big shoot of the year! Here's an emoji sneak peek at an upcoming episode: 📚📧💞

Finally, some updates from CT Studios!
CyranØ will be playing at FilmQuest Festival in October. You can still get tickets for Monday, if you're going to be in town to watch our short, along with a bunch of others.

We're getting awfully close to a first draft of the script for The Vessel. The draft will be available to read for Studio Exec Patrons (we'd love your feedback!).

We'll also be re-writing Ashes to Ashes in October and trimming it down to something we can actually shoot. Instead of a magical fantasy-land movie that we definitely can't make for a reasonable amount of money (reality is hard!).
