America's Leadership Problem

Hey everyone! You've probably already seen it, but here's the latest video. With the election coming up I wanted to cover the subject of American leadership productively, and this is what I came up with.

I hope you guys enjoyed it. I planned on actually covering Iran & Islam next and have made a dent in researching that. There was, of course, the debate this week, and after watching it I took a day to pause and consider covering American politics again for my next one. I might change my mind, but for now I'm going to stick with the plan and do Iran. I think it will be productive for my own development and think it will be an interesting addition to the channel.

Hope that sounds as good to you as it does to me. As usual I'll do another private video for all of you here soon, as a supplement between the main channel videos. There's something I've been wanting to talk about that I think I'll use that for. I usually record that a few weeks after a main channel release to break up the monotony of research. So you can expect that around then.

Thank you so much, as always, for your support.

Hi Ryan, thanks for producing another classic. I have a small recommendation, is it possible to also share your LF videos as audio on Spotify. Would really help people who want to relisten the content.

Hey Ryan, thanks for making another great video, I always learn so much from watching them! An off topic question, but what's the song used at the end of the video? Thanks!

Gizzle

Thank you for this I will share it with everyone I know

Lori Rodgers

Great video as usual. I even watched it with my three boys (ages 14-20) for commentary and reflection.

Interesting history. Thank you, Ryan. If only we could get the population to spend a half hour a year to watch this kind of thing instead of trash TV. I wonder what the effect of propaganda networks run by foreigners has done to exacerbate this is. Additionally, it seems that states are able to elect worthless ignorant morons as representatives or senators, but have no direct disincentive. Perhaps a popular vote by the whole country for the worst representatives and senators could be used to punish them. There needs to be some preventative measure. I think the constitution should have had a provision that it must be rewritten every generation (or so), so that we don't rely on language that was meaningful two hundred years ago, but that 99% of modern Americans cannot even grasp. Perhaps I cannot design the best system, but game designers could. It is the 1% of sociopaths that cause politics to decompose.

Interesting how the Unitary executive folks claim to be faithful to the original intent of the Framers, which you correctly pointed out was to limit the power of the office.

Kelly

Fantastically well made and insightful essay on the sad decline of government in the United States. Thank for your time and energy Ryan!

Bro, this was a great video providing historical context. I had heard about Reagan removing that governing body, but the stuff re the democrats earlier, was new to me. I’m an Aussie but as we all know, what happens in the USA impacts us all, sadly. Not sure how you guys can change when even CNN won’t let anyone else be on the stage with the 2 main candidates. Not that I’m sure there are any good viable ones, bar maybe Andrew Yang from what I’ve seen, but not even sure he’s running.

Glad you dropped this right after the debate.
