Ahhh I can see it being a children’s book actually!! All the animals and the madness make sense then 😂😂 Oh I totally missed that it’s suppose to be his father lol 🥲 he had a lot of makeup and prosthetics it was kinda hard to tell in my defence hahahaha

2026-01-22 19:56:35 +0000 UTCJumanji! I like how you kept asking if this was horror. It's based on a children's book! Jumanji was a children's picture book released in the 80s and was super popular. I had it as a kid and thought it was really cool when they adapted it into a movie. I was probably 14-15 when the movie came out. The practical effects are cool, but unfortunately some of the CG is really dated now (the monkeys) The Town had fallen into shambles because the factory closed up and damaged the local economy. Van Pelt, the hunter, is played by the same actor as the father. This is intentional, as Van Pelt represents the fear and pressure he feels from his father. If you think Kirsten Dunst is young in this, you should watch Interview with the Vampire. She is even younger and gives an absolutely amazing performance. Lots of other great Robin Williams movies to see. You should definitely watch Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, Good Morning Vietnam, Hook... so many.
