yeah it would be nicer if he did it out of respect rather than hoping to get back together 😩😩 makes the act was less genuine imo

I really dislike this Rachel and Ross' scene as well. Like what kind of explaining is that. You could just state that out of respect for her you really felt like it crossed a line and that not honouring her word would jeopardize your friendship, that's it. I really dislike how his choices are kind of oriented to serve him in the end. Like yes you and me could be back together at some point so I did this enormous favor that is not sleeping with your sister. Like come on. If you're really exes that decided to be friends and that is all I don't think it's unreasonnable to ask not to hook up with each other's siblings. Seems normal to me. Also, I know it's a sitcom but it's so shitty and weird to go for your sister's ex even if she kind of sells his qualities to you idrc. It's icky. Just like Monica in this Thanksgiving episode going for Richard's son. 🤷‍♀️ Just my opinion though.

That moment with Phoebe and Joey in the beginning was always so cute to me the way she says “I’m pretty” 😆 Rachel has 2 sisters I love the moment you hear the knock at the door everyone pauses and looks so confused and Phoebe starts counting them all because there all thinking “wait aren’t we all here?” lol gives the vibes of that other episode where they walk into the coffee shop and people are sitting in “their” couch they just look stop and walk out. 😂 The audience didn’t cheer for Reese because she wasn’t famous at the time. This was before legally blonde. I asked ChatGPT to give me a list of the most famous people on Friends and they have somebody who hasn’t been introduced yet as number one. after thinking about it for a little bit I would have to say that I agree. It has Julia Robert’s as second, someone else who hasn’t been introduced as third and then Reese Witherspoon as fourth and I guess that’s fair enough. Monica is hilarious in that episode 😂 out of everyone I think Courtney plays sick and drunk the best she’s always hilarious then I’m the same as Chandler it’s extremely hard to cry sometimes I feel like I’m dead inside. Lol I’ve only cried to a handful of times to movies and books lol I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else mention it tho but at the end the crying from him seems so fake 😅 like someone very badly pretending to cry this is the only time I’ve felt that way. I love that Joey respects Phoebe enough to not look at the tape. Just shows how much he cares because I feel like if it was anyone else he would have looked. I feel like even tho they both still have a lot of issues they’ve come a long way in their personal Ive’s and their relationship. Ross was acting out of hurt and jealousy before whereas now his in a clear headspace. And although yeah he should have thought the same thing before with the copygirl it just goes to show he’s maturing as a character I’m a fan of them when there’re not acting like immature idiots lol so it’s 50 50 with them for me. I didn’t necessarily find that scene cute per-say but did gain a bit of appreciation and respect for Ross because because he could have done whatever he wanted and because he respected Rachel in that moment I respect him just a little more.

Raquel

Ahahaha I hope others see if your way 😅 we shall have to wait and see 😆 Oh really?? How interesting !! I would think she would keep it since it was such a hot topic ahaha but each to their own! Omggg she’s crazy!! Her performance was fantastic! 😍 but I will say performing in front of a live audience would make anyone nervous definitely

IcedQuokka

See I think they are comedy gold when they are hating each other or just making fun of each other! If they turn back into flirting or romantic interactions I don’t like it as much 🥲 but yes I would hate them in real life also ahahaha but hilarious on the screen!

IcedQuokka

I love how much Ross and Rachel annoy you with that last scene. That reaction of being frustrated with them was priceless! With Rachel's hair, I feel like I read the actress was getting upset about how much attention her season 2 and 3 hair got that she deliberately changed it. I also read Reese Witherspoon was super nervous shooting the show. The live audience and the schedule and the pressure made her very anxious and she thinks she did a bad job. Which is wild. I thought she played the bratty younger sister so well. Monica trying to seduce Chandler when she is sick will never not be funny to me.

Chris

Well, I always thought Ross and Rachel were comedy gold! But if you forget for a second, that it's a sitcom and think about if this were real people, they are both very unlikeable to me. Ross kind of a douche and Rachel at times incredible mean to her friends ... as a tv show, incredibly funny!

Christian Schoen

Ahahahaha it’s my opinion 😭😭

IcedQuokka

How the hell are you friends with your exes that’s wild 😭😭 Yesssss I’m assuming there’s going to be more famous people as the show goes into the 2000s so they will have more current actors that I would know these days im hoping 😍

IcedQuokka

Ahh like since they’ve changed a bit since last time you think they would work better as a couple? I can see that logic but I prefer them apart 😅

IcedQuokka

No worries about using translate, do whatever you have to do 😊🤍 I see what you mean how it’s not a fair comparison I think I just said it in the moment because I was riled up 😂 I just really like their characters when they aren’t together to them hinting at it again just made me annoyed because I just wish they could both be happy without each and their drama 😩😭

IcedQuokka

I think I see what you mean! Like they deserve each other in the sense that are both very messy and toxic 😂 and I agree it is a very toxic sentiment ahaha like that’s why I don’t want them together because they are so toxic when they are lol 😭

IcedQuokka

Ahahahaha rip me when this goes up on YouTube then 😭😅

IcedQuokka

You were completely wrong about that Rachel and Ross scene.

Curtis Murphy

As someone who’s still friends with 3 of my exes, I defend them all the time. This episode always makes me laugh for that reason too. Rachel always talks up Ross when someone tries being mean about him, but cuts him the most when she’s upset with him. That’s typical ex behavior—you both know the good and the bad that others never get to see. I would also agree Reese would either be 3rd most famous of the guest stars at this point. If be curious to see your rankings once you have the full show done because some guest stars later on may potentially alter that.

Yeah, that Rachel and Ross scene was cute for me. Because when I first watched it, my thought process was something like this - Ross and Rachel weren't right for each other before, but if they grow into themselves and mature in the future, they might be. And I thought if that's what they are doing here, I like that kind of stories. No worries that you don't ship them though.

Monika

Hi, as someone who particularly likes the Ross and Rachel couple, I can try to share my perspective here. I understand where you're coming from, but among the points you raised: "How contradictory it is for Ross to have this position now, considering that doing something with Jill would affect his possible reconciliation with Rachel, and he didn't consider this when he cheated on her with the girl from the copy shop." In this case, I think they are very opposite situations in terms of timing. When Ross cheated on Rachel, there were feelings of spite and rejection; it was right after the phone call that fueled his paranoia about her replacing him with Mark, almost as an act of revenge and compensation, while the situation with Jill doesn't have the same background. For me, the last scene is just a reaffirmation of the agreement made between him and Rachel in the previous scene, where she admits that it's strange for her and that she wouldn't like to see them together. In the scene he says, "If it's strange for you, then I'll say I can't see her anymore." For me, this scene already implies that behind this decision there's not only the feeling of caring for the well-being of a close friend, but also the idea of not being looked down upon by Rachel and, deep down, the desire for them to get back together at some point. It's the same logic that Rachel brings up during Ross and Emily's engagement: "Between their ups and downs, she assumed that at some point they would be together again." Yes, Rachel unintentionally throws her sister at Ross, but he himself admits that despite the flirtatious atmosphere that arose, he would never pursue that idea, given the possibility of hurting or upsetting Rachel. He only changes his mind when he believes Jill has a genuine interest in him, and Rachel encourages him. This is repeated when he meets Emily and thanks Rachel for "making the connection" between them. This invisible "bond" between them has always existed throughout the series. For me, the mistake in this episode isn't necessarily in Ross's actions, or even in the fact that Rachel "encouraged" this unintentional encounter. It's in Rachel not being honest with Ross from the beginning. The moment he goes after her at the café and thanks her for the encouragement, she should have said she wasn't comfortable with the situation. After all, she knew deep down that Jill wasn't that interested. But I understand that this wouldn't have given us a plot. Sorry for any mistakes, I'm Brazilian and I used Google Translate haha. I love your reactions! <3

i think i said it before on a youtube video of yours, the actor's for joey and pheobe have said they tried to play it as if the characters were fwb when no one else was around. having a partner being sick and still going for it no matter how much you turn them down because they're sick wears you down sometimes. i feel for chandler if the old couple in the swing is gross they should stop spying on them. they did establish ursula is the evil twin he didn't think about it before because he didn't know it upset rachel. once he knew it changed the dynamic. which is why the sister had to lie to get back into his apartment to try and make a move on him. as a pro ross/rachel person (mostly because i think they're both generally bad partners and deserve each other so they don't make others miserable), their dynamic at this point is super messed up with both of them being kind of clingy and judgemental about the other's partners. but part of me does see "i'm choosing a potential future with you over instant gratification with someone that will upset you" as ...idk a very toxic romantic gesture? like it's the kind of thing hollywood says is romantic but probably wouldn't be irl. idk it kind of makes sense to my neurodivergent brain but i can see why some people wouldn't like it.

William Rosmer

Yes, the Ross and Rachel scene was cute. To quote Joey, "YOU'RE DEAD INSIDE!". Also, it was partially to set up the Chandler crying joke, which I love that joke even more.
