Monastic Traditions

At 3rd level, a Monk gains the Monastic Tradition feature that honors the teachings of their monastery. The following Way of the Mystic Ink option is available to you when you make that choice. It grants features at 3rd level and again at 6th, 11th, and 17th level.

Way of the Mystic Ink

Practitioners of this monastic tradition have learned to harness their ki through the use of special tattoos. These tattoos enhance the monk’s body, making it stronger, faster, and more durable. They also manifest powers and weapons when ki is channeled through them based upon what the tattoo depicts. Once completed, these tattoos retain their power even if marred in combat and cannot be removed.
