This gnomish device holds a glass cylinder filled with a galaxy-like glowing fluid. The device has 2d4+4 charges that can only be regained through the use of a wish spell. You can use a bonus action to spend 1 charge while holding the device against a point of your choice that you can see on a wooden, metal, or stone surface to create a hole that lasts for 1 hour. You can choose the hole’s dimensions—up to 6 inches in diameter and 2 feet deep. The hole creates no instability in the structure surrounding it.

When the hole disappears, any creatures or objects still inside take 5d8 force damage and are shunted to an unoccupied space nearest to the surface on which the device was used.
