Coming Soon(tm): Forums

Hey guys!

So I've got a LOT of new features that I'd want to get done, but the one that stood out as a good way to set up some useful general-purpose interactions on the site was Forums.

Admittedly, I'm using the World of Warcraft forums as a loose idea for what to do here. The core features I appreciate from this feature planning is the ability to post as your characters, which facilitates a need for some roleplaying.

Some forums will be locked to user-only posting (generally, the support forums and "official business" things). There is also a NSFW distinction that I'm building in (go nuts, guys, just flag your content).

Here's what I'm thinking:

At the top is a collection of forums, grouped by general topic. In each forum is a collection of threads, as with any forum system, that can be sorted by date, Karma or popularity. Forums can be created for each species class (anthro, fantasy, humanoid or whatevers), for example, or for seeking out artists, finding commissions and RP partners, or... well anything, really.

Topics as a whole can earn or lose Karma, an internal ranking system that's basically Reddit (though admittedly, I don't use Reddit. I should, I've heard.) You can up/down vote things (fun fact: that's termed "harmony" and "discord" in the back-end because I was totally playing Overwatch at the time and Zenyatta is amazing.)
