Issue #54: Turtle Power! – September 2021

Sing along with me! You know the words!

"They're the world's most fearsome fighting team! They're heroes in a half shell, and they're green! When the evil Shredder attacks . . . "

Wait. That hasn't happened for a long while. The Foot Clan fled. Krang went back to Dimension X. And Shredder himself hasn't tried to whip up a fresh batch of turtle soup in, what, nearly seven years? Not in the context of a Nintendo system video game,  any way.

But you can't keep a good villain down (even by dropping him into the back of a garbage truck), so we'll soon see what nefarious plot old tinhead's been cooking up throughout this latest era of absence. It's nearly time for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge!

This all-new take on the oldest toon Turtles is set to ignite a major explosion of TMNT nostalgia soon, and we're here to do our part in amplifying that impact. So this edition of Nintendo Force features a full focus on the four famous Foot-kicking ninja brothers, bringing them back into their rightful place of standing in the Big N's spotlight. Because though their video game adventures have been a bit inconsistent in the past two decades, there was a time when TMNT was a brand just as important to the NES as Mario, Zelda or Castlevania!

We'll explore the full history of Nintendo system Turtles titles in our central feature, Turtles Through Time. We'll give you a Shredder's Revenge preview that will instantly inspire you to throw a pizza party. And we're incredibly honored by the star of our Interview section this time around: Kevin Eastman, the man who actually first dreamed up the Ninja Turtles! He and Peter Laird co-created the first TMNT comic series that all other Turtles media sprang out from. There would be no TMNT games without him!

So please enjoy NF #54: Turtle Power! And save me a slice of pepperoni, won't you?

Issue #54: Turtle Power! – September 2021

Comments

Totally!

This was a pretty good issue if you like TMNT. Some good Zelda news etc. I’m personally exited for the October issue!

I signed up before the cut off for this issue but my payment kept saying pending. It finally went through but I still don’t have my issue. Did I miss out?

Feels good to see the OG turtles on a game mag cover again after all these years.

Chris Cantrell

Only occasionally!

Looks like you must have missed the cut-off time by a bit, Andre! So no issue was sent, but you also weren't charged either. If you'd still like a copy of the Turtles issue, you can order one at NintendoForceMagazine.com. And then your first issue as a Patreon subscriber will be #55 with Metroid Dread on the cover. :)

I signed up/paid for issue 54 to be sent to my house on the cut-off day. It’s 9/7 and I haven’t received it. Is there a way I can check on whether this is being sent to me or not?

Welp, just got charged for my Patron stuff and NF was not included. Guess I'll be cancelling (again). :(

Do you think you might ever go monthly?

I became a member at the last day for the TMNT issue. I hope I didn't fall thru the cracks and get mine in the mail soon. So exited! (this is my 2nd attempt at being a member)

Thank you for what you do! My 6 y/o son LOVES all of last year's magazines we received today. Excited to see him receive the current printings regularly as he increases his ability and enjoyment of reading.

I am so excited for this turtle game. I can remember when I was young going to the arcades and pouring quarter after quarter into the TMNT cabinet with my brothers, and now I can bring some of that excitement to my children.

October issue: Metroid Dread. Next issue after that: something different!

The Nintendo Force

Awesome!! I think I got in before the cut off & this will be my first physical issue, I’m hyped 👍

YEEEEEEES! Solo Metroid Dread issue for October!!!

Does that mean November will be Metroid Dread?
