Happy Five-Year Anniversary, Nintendo Force fans!
Yes indeed, it was exactly five years ago today when the very first issue of NF Magazine was published on January 11, 2013. Our goal in making this all-new magazine was to keep the legacy of Nintendo coverage alive in physical magazine form following the cancellation of Nintendo Power, and thanks to your support we've kept that mission rolling for half a decade now! The NP lineage remains unbroken to this day, as we've put out a new issue every two months for five solid years.
Thank you all so much for your continued support! We're only able to keep NF going because of you. And because there are so many of you (and we've blown past even our highest stretch goal on our Patreon page) we're kicking off an extra series of rewards today!
Attached to an email that's just been sent to all of our patrons in good standing is a download link for you to claim a digital copy of our debut issue, now exactly five years old. You can see how far NF has come over the years by looking back on how things looked when we were just starting out! It's also a nifty glance back into Nintendo's past, as here on a day when we've just had a fresh Nintendo Direct that further fans the flames of the Nintendo Switch's success, we have this reminder that things weren't quite so rosy for the company at the beginning of the Wii U era.
This is just the first in a planned series of ongoing free back issue releases for our patrons โ from this point forward, every back issue will be sent to all patrons in good standing in digital form, for free, when it hits its own fifth birthday. I wanted to wait until today to kick this off on the actual five-year anniversary date for NF overall, but to keep things tidy future free back issues will be sent to you all alongside new issue releases. So when Issue #32 is published next month, the download link to the old Issue #2 will be sent at the same time. When Issue #33 is published, old Issue #3 will accompany it. And so on and so forth.
If you have enough patience and maintain your support long enough, you'll end up with the whole NF back catalog for free. But if you want to speed the process along, there is a Five-Year Mega Bundle for sale at NFMagazine.com for a limited time.
Thank you all once again, and Happy Birthday . . . to us!
