December Giveaway & RETRO Recommendation!

Hey again, Force fans!  With only a few days remaining in 2016, our final giveaway of this calendar year features the final Wii U release of the year! WayForward's gorgeously animated Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has just barely made it out to market as a 2016 release, and we've been playing it, and we love it so much that we're sharing the love with you!

If you're signed up as an NF patron here by the end of December, your name will go into the hat to win a free copy of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. And for this giveaway, we'll pick two winners instead of one!

RETRO Videogame Magazine on Patreon!

Another heads-up for you all: RETRO Videogame Magazine has made the leap to Patreon!  We've partnered with RETRO in the past, and their focus on gaming's early days and the impact that the designs of the '80s and '90s are still having on today's new releases goes hand-in-hand with our spotlight staying fixed on Nintendo's new games as they come along. Get the best of the past and the present together when you subscribe to both!

Just like our Patreon page here, all you need to do to subscribe to RETRO is pick a tier and pledge to their Patreon page. And let's give them a boost, shall we? They just launched their page yesterday and their existing subscribers are already making the leap over, but let's see the NF faithful help boost them up to their goal level that they need to hit to keep print issues in production!

Happy Holidays!

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus or none of the above, I hope you all have a great, restful and fun end to 2016. This may be my last post of the year here since I'm heading out to family events soon, but I'll be back after New Year's Day to announce the winners of our Shantae giveaway and start talking to you all about our next production: Issue #26: The Nintendo Switch Launch Guide!

Until then!

~ Lucas M. Thomas

P.S. When I was in college, my friends and I had grand Festivus celebrations every year. I excelled at the Feats of Strength.

December Giveaway & RETRO Recommendation!

Comments

Thank you for the Retro Magazine recommendation, just signed up. Keep up the great work on NF.

What's the ship date for this issue? I'd like to know because I may be moving this month and if so I'll have an address change and therefore need to know if I can get my info changed or if I'll need someone to mail it up to me.

I just received issue 25 but I have yet to receive issue 24. How do we go about rectifying this? Thanks.

I hope my magazine comes sometime because this is Issue 2 all over again.

**Fingers Crossed**, **Picks up a Four Leaf Clover**, Bloody Mary Bloody Mary. Shante looks amazing! Thanks for providing us with some down with the sickness Magazines!

Merry Christmas guys thanks for the entertainment looking forward to 2017

Hey quick question: who prints the mags? I wanna be able to know the distance from my house it is to estimate how long it'll take.

Sorry Lucas, I've known Mike (before Game Gavel, Chase the Chuck Wagon ring any bells....) for years and all he's done is tarnish everything he's touched these past few years. I supported Retro for the 1st 12 issues and after numerous delays and aggravation while patiently waiting, anything he's associated with I'll never support again. And I'm actually disappointed Nintendo Force is supporting Retro and anything to do with him.

Happy holidays, Nintendo Force! :)

I'm not here to comment on Mike Kennedy, but this IS a solid magazine. I was one of the Kickstarter backers of the first year, Well worth $5.99 to download the past 11 issues and add a print subscription. Any magazine with Jeremy Parish as a contributor gets my money. Don't buy the Chameleon. Do get this magazine.

Max Smith

Definitely steer clear of Retro Magazine. Atrocious business practices. Nintendo Force is awesome, but don't give Retro Mag your money.

Andrew Bates

Yeah,I almost confused myself. This is that magazine I've heard bad things about. The whole Coleco Chameleon debacle is this same company/person. I was thinking about this one: <a href="http://www.retrogamer.net/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.retrogamer.net/</a> . Too bad it's in the UK.

Shoot, thanks for catching that Brian. I didn't even notice it was the same guys. I even considered subbing to RETRO. Will stay clear for now. Thanks!

Partnering with Retro magazine isn't really smart. This is the same people who tried to con people with the Coleco Chameleon

Festivus for the rest of us 😂
