Our milestone 25th issue is complete!
As 2016 comes to an end and 2017 is ushered in, Nintendo is in a time of transition. The Wii U is done – its time in the spotlight is over. And the all-new Nintendo Switch is mere months away!
Here in this in-between time, we've taken the opportunity to look back and reflect on the entirety of the Wii U era. But it's not a simple walk down memory lane, because strong rumors suggest that many of Wii U's biggest hits will be making encore appearances on Switch! Whether they're presented as ports, sequels, "director's cuts" or whatever else, brands like Mario Kart, Splatoon, Super Smash Bros. and more look poised to build on the foundations of their Wii U editions and add even more content for Switch.
Of course, the one game that we know for sure is going to appear on both systems is the game we selected to appear on the cover this time. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild gets an all-new preview, supporting coverage in our Retro section and is the subject of both sides of our doubled-sided, packed-in wall poster! (You'll get to pick to display either Horse Rider Link or Rock Climber Link.)
And our featured Interview this time is with André Segers of GameXplain, who nearly lost his mind earlier this year as he worked for months to prepare his epic, crazily in-depth *two-hour* analysis video pouring over all of the footage of Breath of the Wild recorded at E3 2016. (GameXplain is also on Patreon at Patreon.com/GameXplain, so give their page your patronage too if you're a fan of their video work!)
All that and more are in store for you in our 25th issue!
Digital subscribers, keep an eye on your email for the link to download the PDF version this weekend. The Magzter version will follow along a few days later.
Print subscribers, the issue's in production at our printing company now and will get into the mail to you within the next week. It should arrive in most of your mailboxes by early January!
Thank you all for your continued support of The Nintendo Force and NF Magazine! I hope you all have a wonderfully happy holiday season and get to spend time with friends and family. Or, failing that, at least get to spend some time playing some new Nintendo games!
~ Lucas M. Thomas
P.S. The December Giveaway we were planning was going to be a crossover thing with GameXplain, but it looks like that might need to be pushed back a bit because André and his team have been super busy. If we do end up needing to delay that, I'll come up with a different giveaway to run before the end of the year! Stay tuned. :)
