The Sega Nerds Need Your Support!

OK, I know, I know. Nintendo and Sega are bitter rivals for all eternity. But! Things aren't nearly so malicious between these two fandoms today as they were right around 25 years ago, and there may even be some of you Nintendo Force members out there who'd also count yourselves as fan of the House of the Hedgehog. If that's you, Mega Visions could be your new jam!

Mega Visions is a new magazine in the works made by Sega fans and for Sega fans, and for the past several weeks its creative team has been seeking funding to get their publication off the ground over on Kickstarter. Here's the link:

As I'm writing this, there's less than two days to go before the campaign ends, and it's just a few hundred bucks shy of hitting its goal! The Sega Nerds could really use an 11th hour push of support from the Nintendo Force to make it past that milestone, so please jump over to their campaign site, take a look at their video and decide whether you think having a new Sega-focused magazine to read would be a nice complement to your regular influx of fresh NF issues. (I think it would!)

Thanks, NF fans!

P.S. I'm calling them Sega Nerds not as any kind of insult – the creative team is the same group that runs SegaNerds.com. Just to clarify. :p

I doubt Nintendo and Sega are rivals now, because of how Sega currently makes games for all competing consoles. Sega was certainly a rival to Nintendo in the 90s when they made the Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast. If Sega ever makes consoles again in the future, they'll be rivals with Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft again. Also, I resent you my April 17 email about a week ago, because it seems hard for you to catch up on emails from past months.

Who knows? Could be fun!

The Nintendo Force

The rivalry was silly because they were targeting different audiences. It's like saying that comedy movies and romantic movies are in a rivalry because they are both movie groups. There was some overlap with some games but a lot of games were different in tone and feel.

I would support it cause I love Sega, but it's a digital only magazine and I prefer physical magazines.

I'd support this idea of a Sega magazine because I honestly found the "rivalry" to be fun growing up. I played and enjoyed both Sega and Nintendo consoles, and I'll always keep the "dream" alive that Sega returns to the hardware market. I think having four major console platforms would make things very interesting. That all said, are there any plans to have friendly banter between issues of NF and Mega Visions?
