Winner #4 & A Mailing Revision

Our fourth winner of a copy of The Legend of Zelda is . . .

Mike!

Just Mike. Mike didn't enter a last name here into his Patreon profile, so I'll just have to send him a direct message to let him know that, yes, it was specifically him who just won.

Speaking of that, everyone please make sure that the name you've used for your Patreon accounts here is the same name that the postal service associates with you and your address. If you've signed up here using an Internet pseudonym like "CrazyPikachuFan87," then please consider changing that to be just your normal name instead – I don't want you to get frustrated when postal workers don't deliver your issues to you because they don't know that CrazyPikachuFan = Jessica Smith, you know?

Also on the topic of mailing out issues, I've made a chance with our printing/shipping company that will improve the reliability of all our future deliveries. Some people got frustrated in recent months when their copies of Issue #17 or #18 didn't show up when they should have, causing me to have to mail them replacement copies. I think I've identified the culprit, though: the exterior mailing labels that we've been using. I think the labels have just peeled off of the outside of the plastic mailing bags in some cases, leaving the post office holding a magazine with no address info left on it – so delivery can't be completed.

I'm having them switch things from Issue #20 and onward, though, to an interior mailing sheet with address info printed on it. Placed inside the plastic bag along with the magazine and poster, there will be no way your address info will get peeled off and separated from the goodies inside. So I'm sorry if an issue has ever missed you in the past, but that issue should now be a thing of the past!

(See what I did there?)

Well the name thing kinda sucks, but I'm not surprised (I got some mail from someone on patreon last month and I couldn't figure out why they would write my user name instead of my given name, lol). I'll put it in brackets so I don't confuse people I've been supporting for a while.

Mandar

Thank you for making the change away from address labels! You guys had to send me a replacement issue last year and that certainly sounds like a plausible cause. I appreciated your prompt action on replacing my missing issue but this correction sounds like it will save the trouble entirely. I also noticed my issue #19 just barely had the label stuck on so crisis averted, by the slimmest of margins! :D Thanks again for the great magazine and the dedication to resolving items like this to get each issue into the hands of your fans.

You guys must have been using the The Label Baby Junior label maker.

And face the wrath of collectors who want to keep their issues in mint condition? Certainly not! :p

The Nintendo Force

NF, why not just apply sticker address labels directly to the magazines' covers like other magazines do? It would be cheaper than inserting an additional mailing sheet.

OK guys, I've just submitted the support request. Thanks for your help in sorting this out! If Patreon is able to make the change, you're right that it then won't matter what people have as their public usernames. :)

The Nintendo Force

I'll send an email to Patreon support about this, Ahmad and DaJay. Because you're right that you are asked to enter a name along with your shipping info – it's just that that name isn't supplied to us when we access your information. That's a behind-the-scenes change Patreon needs to make.

The Nintendo Force

Huh, that's weird. Wait, will that be an issue when mailing? Because the address I have up is a friend's and the name I used was his. Does it not show up for you guys?

Dark Side

We get the full mailing address as everyone has entered them, yes, but the only name we get is the username. So it does matter what they are! The USPS may not play nice with magazines trying to be shipped to "MagicAlakazam" and "That Guy."

The Nintendo Force

Yep, that's why we're making the change. :)

The Nintendo Force

I wish that were true! But there's no other name reported to us from Patreon. So, for example, the only name we get from your account is "DaJay42."

The Nintendo Force

As Ahmad said; please use the name provided in the "Shipping address" for shipping. That's, like, it's purpose ;)

When I got the latest issue the mailing label was barely sticking.

Sarah Schweitzer

Just a heads up that Patreon requires full details on mailing addresses so, it doesn't matter what people's usernames here are, the addresses they inputted when pledging should house all the necessary, proper info.
