This is a place where guns circulate amongst the local teenagers as casually as candy bars. Open carry is a normal daily way of life. The gang members here are armed to the teeth and always ready for the opps. Some of the most famous musicians in the city are rumoured to have multiple bodies under their belt, with those who have only killed 1 person being considered rookie's on the streets. Things are so bad that sometimes when members run into their opps the shootouts are so wild and deadly nobody survives and the Police arrive to gruesome scenes littered with bodies and nobody to provide a statement. This is one of the wildest scenes I've ever covered and I hope you appreicate the depth that we've gone into with this one. I've listened to the feedback on recent videos which haven't gone as deep and me and my team have spent an entire month living, sleeping and breathing St. Louis Drill culture. Even if the goings on in a specific community was doing well or even ok once the entities that run these said communities (and by now we can pretty much figure out which communities across the country that are infected with corruption at the head ) began to allow their corrupted ways linger and become intertwined within the daily decision making processes that fund, organize and run a specific community welp we get places like Baltimore, St Louis, Baton Rouge, Chicago, Atlanta, DC, just to name a few what's very interesting is corruption exist everywhere but some "leaders" will use it to better their communities vs allowing it to be destroyed and this is a whole other topic but I digress

ESTL is known to be grimey. Most St. louisans go there to go out etc. The politics are different and it is literally in IL. After the riots resources were not properly allocated. They just got street signs 100+ years later. So it’s not the same. STL never went through a reconstruction when the US was rebuilding itself after the Civil War and that is extremely important to all the structure and landscape of black population in STL. Black ppl have been in north city/ downtown since the end of slavery. Even during the great migration, new comers would set up tents on the landing by river until land was as available. More so the mafia still has a heavy influence in STL. And now since the tornado that happened in May that basically decimated the north and west side it’s going to be a lot more violence because people now have to really relocated and they’ve (investors/local govt.. mafia etc etc) been wanting the property and land on the north side. So many people who houses were destroyed won’t even be able to rebuild. So yeahhh it’s a great recipe for some off the wall shit.
