Life Update: The World in UHD

Hello wonderful patrons,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and may there be an excellent week ahead of you.

I'm making this post as an update that, yes, the writing is going well and further development of content for the Patreon is also proceeding apace. This post is also to share a bit of news about a positive change that happened to me this past week, which you are helping with.

On the above picture, on the left, you see the pair of glasses that I've been using the past 7 years. It's minimal, doesn't dominate the face and has served me very well. Recently though, it has begun to show its age and this past year I've been having trouble reading comfortably.

My new pair that I got is on the right and it's amazing; multifocal, anti-glare, thinner than the old pair and optimized for looking at computer screens, something which I'm doing a lot more of lately. To compare the two, is like the difference between 1080p SD and 4K UHD. It was super distracting wearing the new pair at first. The level of detail was somewhat overwhelming. You really realize folks are getting old around you when you can distinguish the individual pores on their skin from eight feet away :-)

In any event, yes, in the background you see a bit of WIP Art. I took the Fine Arts for five years, but life, circumstances and job didn't really allow for it to flourish further, reducing me to only occasionally doodling. I want to rekindle that old flame and get my art legs back. I generally draw when my literary muse indicates she needs to take a break. I also take a walk when that happens... sometimes scenes just seem to write themselves when I take a walk.

My preferred art mediums is sketching, with pencil or charcoal and painting. I'm open to going digital, but I need to get my full skills back and develop further before I'll feel confident enough to make the investment.
