Tian Tian felt her heart ache even more. Lin Xiaomeng pulled her aside and whispered, "Sweetie, I think you should just ask Jiahao about it. If it was really him who sent it, did this guy win the lottery or has he been pretending to be poor all along?"

"Are you feeling better???"

The prideful Tian Tian agonized for a long while before finally sending a WeChat message to Chen Jiahao.

He usually replied in seconds, but this time, it took a full five minutes for a response to arrive. The long wait felt like an eternity.

When the message notification sounded, Tian Tian scrambled for her phone as if she'd been brought back to life.

"Much better, just eating. You should rest early after you finish your lunch too."

The reply seemed perfectly normal, but Tian Tian was immediately annoyed. If this were before, he would have sent a long-winded message, fussing over her to the point of being annoying.

Out of spite, she didn't reply. Suddenly, Zhao Kai sent another message, saying something about how he was wrong yesterday.

The air conditioner installation in the dorm wasn't happening anytime soon; they still had to test the machine, fill it with refrigerant, and so on...

Chen Jiahao and his two roommates, along with Zhao Yuxin, arrived at Zui Xian Ju outside the school. It was considered the best restaurant in the area.

"One roasted goose, one sizzling braised pork intestines, one black pepper beef ribs, one steamed Australian lobster, abalone with abalone sauce, and roasted pigeon."

Zhao Yuxin picked up the menu, made a perfunctory show of declining, and then started ordering. "Brother Hao just got recovered from his illness, he needs to build his strength back up. Let's also get a pigeon stew with morel mushrooms."

Zhang Jiaqiang secretly tugged on Chen Jiahao's sleeve. "Third bro, I've only got a little over two hundred left."

This meal sounded expensive just by listening; never mind the other dishes, the lobster alone would cost over a thousand, and none of the other dishes sounded cheap.

Chen Jiahao was a student on financial aid, and their own families were just ordinary, not much better off. They were ready to go all out, putting everything on the line to be generous for once. They were all in this together.
