Wildlander 1.0.0 is officially released. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and here's some info about the future.
Added 2022-01-07 20:16:11 +0000 UTCWell, well. The day has finally come to release Wildlander, and it is the most surreal experience. I started work on this version just over two years ago, and it is just insane to see that work go live today.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for following my work. Your support has meant the world to me, and I hope with my whole heart that you enjoy the experience.
You can get started now at the Wildlander website.
What's next for Wildlander?
With version 1.0.0 out the door, my first focus is on supporting the release and making sure everything is running smoothly. A massive thank you to my team, who has been invaluable in this effort.
Once the dust settles and we're sure everything is working properly, I will probably take a small break to reflect and recover. After that, my focus will shift to the following two endeavors:
- Fixing the remaining Known Issues. In particular, the default player houses need some cleaning up, and we experienced a last-minute issue with Night Eye that I would like to address.
- Expanding/adding mechanics! Frequent viewers will already know this, but I am very excited to add even further mechanical depth to the game. This includes the following mechanics, in no particular order: birthsigns, religion, vampirism, lycanthropy, professions/jobs, alchemy balance, location expansions, spells/spellcasting/spell learning, friendships, base building, non-lethal combat options, cooking, fishing, death mechanics, transmogrification, location capturing, currency exchange, and additional followers.
This is list obviously massive, and is also non-exhaustive — I'm sure I've forgotten to put something in there — but I promise I will take things one step at a time, and keep everyone appraised as I go.
(If you're curious, the first priority for me will be professions/jobs. I've wanted more of those puppies for a very long time.)
Conclusion
For me, this release represents the end of the beginning. It is a starting line, from which I hope to build even bigger and better experiences. With that said, I am so grateful to have made it to this point - and I could not have done it without each and every one of you.
Thank you, Wildlanders. I will speak with you again soon. Until then, happy hunting, and all my best.
