Weekly Update (2/2/18) — XP32 Extended, Traps Make Noise, and Other Tweaks
Added 2018-02-03 01:46:02 +0000 UTCHello my loves, and welcome back to another weekly update!
As usual, please say hello to our newest Patrons:
- Aftiel
- Arden M Riley
- Brian Peirce
- Josh Walum
- Poisonorchid
- Science Panda
- Steven Burns
Here's a notated list of everything I've been working on this week!
- Thanks to my fiancée and her project management skills, I now have a curated list of everything that needs to be done before 4.0 can release (as well as an organized plan for content reserved for future releases post 4.0).
- I've replaced the xp32 Maximum Skeleton with its spiritual successor, xp32 Maximum Skeleton Extended by Groovtama. The extended mod features several new features and revamped skeletons for both the player character and several animals/creatures with errors in their skeleton meshes. This should improve consistency and stability across the board.
- I've integrated Traps Make Noise & Mining Makes Noise by kryptopyr. It's always bothered me how enemies don't react to deafeningly loud traps (or players mining for ore), but this is no longer a problem thanks to kryptopyr. Watch those tripwires, or you'll be sorry!
- I've replaced Smarter Combat Music with No Combat Music by Phitt. As some of you know, I hate when combat music alerts the player to threats, and I implemented SMC to address this problem. However, I've swapped it with NCM to lessen the script load and address sporadic user reports of SMC instability.
- I've integrated Tavern AI Fix by Andrelo. Normally, waiters will attempt to take your order when you sit anywhere in a tavern — including your room, or even in the bath! This mod prevents that behavior, and makes taverns a little more realistic.
- Sleep to Gain Experience by Zebrina has officially superseded Classic Level Up. This simulates classic roleplaying experiences by reserving experience points until you've slept, at which point your day's efforts will come pouring in. It's quite a lot of fun, and fits nicely within the roleplaying emphasis of Requiem/US.
- Finally, I've integrated Wiseman303's Critter Fixes. The sister mod to Wiseman's Flora Fixes, this mod fixes some errors in critter/bug meshes and prevents them from colliding with the player. If you've ever "ran into" a torchbug before, you'll understand the need for this fix.
That's it for this week! As usual, thank you for reading and for your steadfast support. Each week brings us closer to 4.0's release, and I seriously cannot describe how excited I am.
Love,
BB
