Coming up on Oct 15

It happens frequently that I come across some headline on recent research and, as I try to figure out what to make of it, fall down a rabbit hole that leads to everything everybody else has ever said about this and related topics. The video that's coming up on Saturday came about this way. I was trying to figure out whether plastic can possibly be the cause of the obesity epidemic, as recent headlines claimed. And ended up doing a video on what we know about the causes of obesity to begin with. I learned a lot while we were looking into this and I hope you will find it useful.

Plastic stress-viruses.

Stress? Plastic? Viruses? Aliens? If you are obese, try to remember if an alien has attached itself to your face recently. If so, don't worry. You'll be back to being thin in no time. Have a little patience.

People have been systematically informed by the uninformed for at least my lifetime which is going on 64 somethings now about food about the way the human body works and well just about everything else...mothers who told their innocent children non sense on top of non sense compounded by more non sense and now these unfortunate children are told by professional torture facilitators that this is any thing other than the evidence of the failure to understand and the resultant failure to operate the unit you were assigned to run as that unit was designed to run on a different fuel m()xture at the mass of mess making you do with the thing and the amount of time you do do keep the unit running by walking as instructed in the Socratic method falls far short of the line defined by the belt of orion sized two legged tent traps that keep the rest of us from having to witness the dearth of other ding dong bell ringers which place the point of the pendulous penumbra within which the calculating capacity of many personal computers cointinue to mal function as is the cyclic itiocy of id eye over there on the chocolate cake and make that a gallon of good 99& high fructose liquid death on the slide to go

Your guess is certainly wrong. If you experience high and sustained levels of stress, to give a very simple example, your cortisol goes up. This leads to weight gain -> cushing's syndrome. Exercise is good for your brain and has little effect, unless you run marathons, on your (weight-) gain.

Probably not. There are medical causes too. The one I find the most interesting is Prader-Willi Syndrome which causes people to always feel hungry, if I remember correctly.

Let me guess. It is all about lack of exercise, isn't it? Waiting to see the video!
