Added 2022-06-01 12:00:08 +0000 UTCI'll be traveling for a few days to attend the How The Light Gets In festival in Hay on Wye, which is a tiny town in Wales that's somewhat of a pain to get to and from. It's the first time I'll be talking about my new book. For this reason, I won't be online when the next video appears, though I hope to be able to check in later at night.
On Saturday, we will look at what the scientific literature says about hormonal therapy for trans athletes and talk about the question whether it's fair if trans women compete against cis women.
I've gotten a few complaints (on Facebook & YouTube, not here) recently, for covering topics of public interest, such as diesel exhaust or nuclear power. It's not a coincidence we've been doing this. I have personally found it hard to come by any brief summary of the scientifically available information that would put a controversial topic into context, and this is what we're trying to do. It's not good to leave controversial topics to the most opinionated people.
