Vi the Imp - "Up All Night" (WIP)

I wanna give this a bigger shot, and I'll likely be hiring for this one. I pondered what I'd do for a bigger episode, and the first thought was starting it with the first person who ever died.

 But a lot more opportunities sprung up when the topic of the black plague came up, which is probably Reaper's personal magnum opus that put him on the top.

 The big plague doctor was scrapped in favor of multiple ones to show resilience.

 I wanted the other imps to have more of a reason to dislike Vi, so I figure she'd often steal kills, knowing she could do them better.

First thing I wanted to get down was the fight against multiple plague doctors trying to save the victims from Reaper.

They have magical staffs for increased offense, so Reaper disarms them all with a flame tornado, and then ricochets the staffs into their backs. They get impaled, and zapped from the inside.

A piece of concept art for how the scene will look. I want it to have compressed audio and a greyscale pallet.

 And it's revealed this is Reaper reading from his old tomb of the event to Vi, as a way to get her to sleep.

 But when Reaper leaves the apartment room, she springs right up, and starts posing like Reaper

 Inspired, she sneaks out to see the night imps be assigned to their kills, and she intercepts them in the act.

I'll be showing that in the future. This is a bigger project that I aim to make 7 minutes at most (Like episodes of Dexter's Lab or Cow and Chicken.)

I just sent a scene to a potential animation employee, and there's a ref I sent to them for Vi in her night gown.

I did a good amount today, and developed the Underworld a little more! I'll be getting back to Pikmin Bits: The Sub Story next time I'm working on animation, hopefully I'll get that done by Halloween!

I'll go ahead and delay Sub Story, but I got a few things done on this!

These are the keyframes or a scene where Vi takes down some cops in the freezer using Necky Nancy's innards (it's YOGURT.)

In the BG for the two cops, I hid a little dude with a knife-- since I'm always kinda afraid I'm being watched from a corner. (As a kid, I used to have awful dreams of this perfect-bottlecap-circle eyed balding toothy-grinned dude in the windows who would always follow where I went, and I was terrified of ever going outside the house. Might draw him sometime.)

 Y'all, is it weird to kinda have a crush on your own OC now?

AHEM, that aside, I figured Reina could intercept the night shift imps, successfully taking a bunch down before getting to Vi. Reina would have to stuff down her affections for Vi (I wanna have a shot of her sponging the blush, heart irises and sweat off her face before making a charge) and go for the duel. (I figure later, the sponge comes back, jumps onto Reina's face to put all the signs of love back on.)

With those shots of Vi in the freezer, I can use those to mirror Reina taking on the imps, until they eventually fight their way towards each other like a big ol' climax.

I'll be workin on this a little more!

I'll be doing the big fight scene with the imps and Reina first, since I really love Reina.

  I'm probably gonna finish the imp crowd battle first, since it's the clearest part of it in my mind.
