PRODUCTION JOURNALS - PINGAS Tower

Purple_LaDD gifted me Pizza Tower, BIG shout outs to him, and... it's like, the best game in history. Mankind's greatest achievement since Pikmin!

I'm currently at the last world, and just beat the animatronic level.

After I first played, I immediately got to work on an animation for the game, and I always knew Robotnik would be involved.

I've been a fan of AOSTH since I first saw "Boogey-Mania" on YouTube around 2008. In the olden times, these shows were on YouTube and sliced into 3 parts to bypass the video length limit. Oh, how the years pass.

This was the first scene animated (8 18 2024):

Then I needed a shot with Sonic, so that Robotnik could burn him to a crisp with the speed that comes with the Peppino hat. I sentence mixed some dialogue, then animated it. I took "That's no good" from AOSTH, "Hang on boys, cuz" from Catscratch and then "I gotta get to the Penis Tower!" from Drawn Together.

Once Sonic was burned, his skeleton would come alive and be revealed to be Jack Skellington plush from The Cute Mario Bros.

I had to add more in-betweens today, because this was originally done on my old Wacom, which was less accurate, so more intricate in-betweens would be really difficult to do.

Initially, I was gonna have Jack chase Robotnik down like the PIZZA TIME segments. A boss fight style felt more appropriate.

 Anyone else here happen to remember when The Cute Mario Bros/MarioMario8989 was thing? This was another thing I'd watch alongside AOSTH, cuz old school YouTube was king. I remember this specific frame used to be their profile icon.

Next was making a title card for the fight like the boss cards in the game. I beat Pepperman during this time, so I used the Pepperman music, and synced it up with "This is Halloween" from Nightmare Before Christmas. I still gotta animate Pepperman all tied up and screaming.

I considered using a song from Youth Fountain, cuz it's the band of one of the Cute Mario Bros. creators (Tyler, who voiced Jack), but none of the songs I heard seemed to fit-- bangers, but not sure I'd fight a Jack Skellington plush to them. Plus, copyright's a thing, I'm not even sure if "This is Halloween" will make it past.

I have more shots finished, I just need to make the shots that connect them. I also might have these all overlaid onto pictures of notebook paper, like my last Robotnik animation.

I have some brief shots of the racing horse, Mort the Chicken and Fake Peppino planned. I also wanna add something with Snotty, who I killeded.

It's from the start to the VS Jack card, up to about 30 seconds of connected scenes. Still have some of the fight, but I gotta get the connecting scenes down.
