I decided to switch it up for you guys and build some custom apartments! This complex has 8 units. Every unit is a 2 bedroom/2bathoom unit with a laundry room and balcony. I did furnish one unit on the second floor, just so you could get an idea of how the layout works if you want to furnish the others.
You can have other sims that you don't control live in this complex using the roommate system from the University Expansion Pack. If you want to be able to choose your roommates, you can use the Choose Your Roommate Mod by LittleMsSam
