Chapter 8 The home we stay

Ren was thinking about it a little bit. It wasn't that he didn't believe Jaune but everything seemed to be too good for them.

Jaune even though didn’t know much about reading people but he knew that Ren was hesitant. He then told him.

“If you are afraid of me being a con man then you can have this first. take it as I help my future employee.”

Jaune gave them five hundred liens each.

Ren was surprised and wanted to refuse but.

Nora’s stomach growled loudly. It needed pancakes now.

From the time that white fangs and grimm attacked the vale until this point, she didn't eat anything. She, who still functions normally could be called a miracle in itself.

Ren couldn’t help but accept Jaune's help. He didn’t know if Jaune was being genuine or not. He and Nora had faced many people who have a kind face but cruel heart many times in the past.

They need to stay vigilant. not many people could gain their trust easily. Except Pyrrha. She never did anything bad to them just being awkward that’s all.

“What job would we be doing for you Jaune.”

Ren asked. He only knew that Jaune wanted to open up a store but he didn't know what store he was going to open.

Jaune thought for a moment before telling him what he would be doing for him in the future.

“Well, I want to open a store to buy and sell things. You just take care of customers for me when I am not around.”

Jaune had money. He bought liens from the store. It cost only a few copper coins to get a few thousand lien. A very good deal for him, to be honest.

Ren nodded his head and thanked Jaune again.

“No need to thank me anymore. You are now my employee. I just did what any employer would do.”

Now that the matter of Ren and Nora had been settled. It was time for Jaune to find a place to open his store. He said goodbye to everyone and was ready to go and find a place he wanted but.

“Eh…What are you all doing following me like that? Ren and Nora are my employees. I can understand. But Ruby, Blake, Yang and Pyrrha, even the old man too.”

“I am not an old man, Kid. And I have you know I didn’t follow you. I follow my nieces.”

Qrow said while drinking his alcohol.

Jaune didn’t say anything about him being an old man anymore. He looked at PRBY to get an answer.

Pyrrha looked nervous. Yang pretended to look at the sky and whistle. Blake didn’t say anything, just kept looking at him. and Ruby, She was a stutter mess now.

In the end it was Pyrrha who spoke for everyone.

“Um, can you rent a room for us for today? If you can get the place you want. We kind of left everything in our room at the beacon, and they might already be destroyed and root, so we didn’t have much lien on us now. hehe.”

Pyrrha laughed awkwardly. she forgot that she didn’t have much lien on her.

If Ren and Nora accepted her help earlier, she would be put in a very awkward position.

She knew that Jaune would help her. but she would still be embarrassed. No. It will be more. when she displayed that kind of behavior in front of her crush.

When Pyrrha finished saying that. Yang, Blake and Ruby added. They would pay for the room when they got money.

Qrow wanted to tell his niece that He could rent a room for the two of them but He knew they wanted to stay with their friends so he looked at Jaune.

He promised death if he did anything to his niece.

Jaune nodded at him. He didn't know what he wanted to convey but he just let it go as Qrow wanted him to take good care of his nieces and he will do just that.

As a good kind young man he is. He didn’t refuse them and didn’t even accept their money.

“No, I won't accept money from friends. but if you feel uncomfortable, you can buy something from my store then.”

For the first time buying things in his store. The system will give them a welcome gift.

They would get a few copper coins and a discount. when they successfully purchase goods in his store. Jaune would get 50% of the coins from the sale and points that could be used to upgrade his privileges.

“Okay, I will buy something from your store, Jaune.”

Pyrrha was very happy now. She will be able to be with her friends without everyone being separated. This will truly be the beginning of her new life in Vale.

Jaune thought it would be a tough task to find a place for him to settle down and open the store.

Who would have thought that many people wanted to leave vale because of what happened. They sold their house and building very cheaply.

Jaune got a three story house fully furnished and ready to open it as his store for only seventy thousand lien! or three hundred copper coins to be exact.

“This is going to be my home and store for the foreseeable future!”

Jaune smiled widely. He felt his heart was filled with accomplishment. He never owned anything that cost more than a hundred lien before. This was considered to be a very high jump in value for him.

“This place is cozy enough to be made into a store and a house at the same time. and there is a storage room behind too. You get this kind of place for only seventy thousand lien. This is too good to be true. Jaune, your luck is too good to be honest.”

Ren looked around the place that would be his workplace. He felt that it was a good choice.

Nora didn’t say anything because she was busy eating food that Ren bought for her with the money he got from Jaune. But she nodded to tell him that she was thinking the same as Ren.

“I like this place.”

Pyrrha smiled warmly. This would be the place where she will stay until the beacon will be ready to open again.

She was hoping that Jaune would attend Beacon Academy with them. She would be very happy to let him in and be their leader. Her team lacked one more person anyway. and she wasn’t that good at leading people.

“I am happy that you like this place. Pyrrha, and what about you all? How do you feel about my place?”

Jaune was like a kid who wanted to show his friends his home. It was adorable. And to think he would be ruthless when fighting and killing Grimms.

Ruby jumped up and down and told him how much she liked this place. She was going to live here forever.

“Of course if you allow me to.”

Ruby looked at Jaune bashfully. She always said something without thinking. and now she showed him this side of her. She hoped he didn’t feel uncomfortable with her way of speaking.

“I’ll allow it, Ruby. Why wouldn’t I? You are already my friend, you can live here forever if you want to!”

Jaune spoke with a straight face. Yang couldn’t help but whistle loudly.

“You aren’t even dating him but already live together with him. What a fast progression heh.”

“T-that that…”

Ruby became a stutter mess once again. Her sister knew where she could make the girl flustered.

Blake just looked at the two and she shook her head and went straight to Jaune and asked him where his room would be.

“Which room would be your room, Jaune?”

“My room? Well, I chose the one nearest to the first floor so that I could go in and out without disturbing anyone.”

Blake nodded, then used that chance to choose the one near him. however. She could never beat the invincible girl. The girl could predict where Jaune’s room would be, and she had already put her belongings in there. and it was only her scroll.

“Tsk”

That was all Blake responded. She then chose the room across from him.

Everyone had chosen a room for themselves. Now it was still morning. or should he say the next day after the battle of beacon.

Everyone felt exhausted so they fell asleep when their head touched the softness of the pillow.

Jaune was still full of energy. He didn’t have anything to do. Qrow had already left this place. He didn’t want to stay here any longer.

Jaune accidentally heard that he would only bring bad luck to everyone.

But before he went out Jaune called for him and had him buy something before he left.

“You want to force me to buy this drug kid?”

“Believe me old man, this one will give you a good day. If it’s not you can come back and I will buy you a bottle of the most expensive liquor in Vale.”

Qrow instantly bought it then said.

“You can’t go back on your word later, kid. I know you have a lot of money. So be prepared.”

He then drank it in front of Jaune. Even a drunkard would never cheat on a kid.

He didn’t know what Jaune had him buy was Felix Felicis the lucky potion from harry potter world!
