(Feedback wanted) Plans to shut down the patreon :(

Hey everyone!! As the Ooblets release date is looming (July 15th!), I've been revisiting my plans for sunsetting my patreon.

I had planned to shut it down last year, but after the outpouring of support we got following the Epic backlash, I felt it would have been awkward to just turn off this whole support network of people who wanted to be there for me right when so many people were joining.

This little community has been such a huge help to us, and it's been a bastion of calm, friendly, and empathetic people amidst an internet that is not really so much of those things. I love sharing stuff with all of you and wish I had more time to do it.

My biggest concern with shutting down the patreon is dissolving this community, so I'd really love it if we could all stay connected, just without you paying me every month!

As far as I can tell, my options for shutting things down are:

1. Unpublish the page, which would shut down everything and we'd all lose access to each other if you're not subscribed to our mailing list* or discord or anything.
2. Pause subscriptions every month, which would keep everything going, not charge anyone each month, but require that I repause it each month (I've seen this go wrong with some creators and folks accidentally getting charged sometimes). I think it might still charge people to join, too.
3. Close all tiers (if I can) to new members and convince everyone to switch to being unpaid "followers" of the page.

I don't actually have a great idea of what to do, so I was hoping to ask for your thoughts and ideas. Whatever I end up doing will hopefully be by the end of this month.

*Note: Even though you get emails through Patreon, our existing mailing list is separate from Patreon and you'd have had to sign up independently to subscribe to it.
