As she rolled through the French Quarter, absorbed in her own world, she tripped on an unseen obstacle. she tripped and twisted her right ankle, she tried to catch herself with the next step causing her second ankle break. Finally, to break her fall, she reached out both her arms.
The aftermath was a nightmare made real. Good thing she did not require surgery, but casts will remain with her for some time.
Despite her wheelchair and the constant stares, Alice can’t help but gaze at those leg casts, the lost of her freedom but a guardine of her injuries.
