New Pages!

It's over here!

I'm feeling stressed-

Probably because I'm deep in that last-minute rush. I don't know how you imagine my process, but just so you know I’m tweaking pages right up until the very last moment, haha. I was still working on them just 15 minutes ago.

GOD, action scenes are incredibly challenging. It’s been a while since I’ve done fight sequences, and I’d honestly forgotten how hard it is to manage the pacing and dynamism, breaking down fast, sharp movements into clear panels.
I struggled during the storyboarding stage and had to redo some panels multiple times even when they were done before I felt okay about them. It’s still not perfect in my eyes, but there’s another action-heavy update coming, so I’m hoping to do even better next time!

You know what? In the original storyboard for the previous pages, Tera was supposed to shoot the guard in the head right at the door. I ended up changing that, because I keep questioning whether or not Tera should kill in each scene. Not for me or him, but for you lol. And now… I kinda regret it!
The doubt comes from the fact that Tera is meant to be evolving as a character, and it's easier for the reader to simply think, "Look, he's not killing anymore."
But if I dig into his psychology a bit more: well, with the father (pizza guy), there were specific signs that led Tera to spare him.
But his growth also shows in other ways: he’s disgusted by his environment.
When he enters that underground nightclub, he doesn't respect anyone there. He sees them all (people from his own world, people who fear the Black Death) as scum with no value. I mean he can't blame himself for all the bad things he has done and be okay with all of the others like him-

But it’s up to me to make that clearer. I’ll give him a few lines of dialogue to express it more directly!

I also promised a little extra today - I did make one (a quick doodle), but I’m not really happy with it. I’d rather take the rest of the day to fix it up and post it tomorrow. Hope that’s okay with you all!

As always, thank you so much for being so supportive and lovely with me and the comics. I'm genuinely so grateful

PS: Oh, and of course, on your recommendation, I watched Kpop Demon Hunters!!!

It was super fun and entertaining! The art direction and the visual treatment of the scenes are beautifully done. Characters are funny and endearing, and honestly, I’ve been looping the movie's soundtrack non-stop for the past week, haha.

I only have one complaint: the film doesn’t take its time!! The pacing is really fast, and it feels like some plotlines and stakes get a bit glossed over. I would’ve loved for certain scenes to stretch out a little more, just so we could really savor them!

*nodding so hard to this comment that it's outright headbanging* (Now, if you would excuse me, gotta see my chiropractor asap... for reasons.) ;p I honestly couldn't find anything to compare this work to, because there was always something amiss... beautiful art, but the story was a little lacking... amazing story, but the art... but this is the whole package. Funny that you use the word "magic" - what else is a spell beside intriguing words with a huge impact... "magic, I tell ya!".

So funny it almost hurts... So sad it almost hurts... So fluffy it almost hurts... So horrid it almost hurts... So tender it almost hurts... So raw it almost hurts... … Whatever emotions each episode fuels, your story always manages to bring it to that crazy level of pain that is just still sweet. I sometimes have to remind myself to deliberately focus on the visual art that transports such emotional art. But how can it be that this mere pattern of black & white, B&W, is able to do magic? I’m new here, but have spent the best (literally!) part of the past week re re re reading The Boy & The Wolf and going through your comments. I guess I started reading comics before many of you, including Pico, were even born. There are only few that got me hooked like this on an emotional level. But I struggle to think of another one that folded emotions and fantastic art into such an intricately woven net of intelligent storytelling. Thank you, Pico, for sharing not only the Boy’s and Wolf's story with us, but also your thoughts behind it. This makes it so much more rewarding. And thanks to you guys here for making it come even more alive. Looking forward to being here...

Hey Pico! I’m pretty new here and really enjoying your work! I was wondering if you’ve thought about doing another little Q&A sometime? but no pressure at all if it’s not your thing! 💕
